Steffi Graf was born in 1969 in Mannheim, West Germany. Her parents were Peter and Heidi Graf. Steffi always seemed to have a racquet in her grasp all hours of the day. Her sawed off an old racquet and gave her a chance to play with it instead of a kids tennis racket.
Graf had won her first tennis competition as a 6 year old, and when she was 13, she had won the German championship for under 18 year olds.
In 1984, Steffi made a trip to Los Angeles to contend in the Summer Olympics. She got the gold medal and also won all 4 main tennis events that year. She is the best female tennis player ever.
