Araucana
Araucana
Araucana’s are breeds of chickens. Both lay blue eggs. While the colour can vary from blue to an aqua blue it should never be white or any other colour. Araucana chickens are thought to have originated in Chile. Araucana’s come in a variety of colours: black, silver, white, red, blue, buff and more recently, lavender. Araucana’s tend to be friendly and calm and are well adapted to both the heat and the cold One of the major problems the Araucana’s breed faces is that most hatcheries sell crossbred birds instead of true Araucana’s. These birds are generally referred to as Easter Eggers layers and find them in paper leading up to Easter. Some are pretty and some lay coloured eggs although the colour is pretty unpredictable. These birds can have anything genetically in their background and don't breed true Araucana’s.

Some things to look for when buying an Araucana’s as fellow the birds must have muffs and a beard, the birds must have slate (grey) legs or black in the case of black birds. The birds must lay a blue or aqua blue egg. Conformation is also important.
Easter eggers usually have other patterns and colours. Usually have willow (greenish) legs or even yellow legs, often lack a beard and/ or muffs. May or may not lay a blue egg but may lay white, green or beige eggs. Generally anytime a blue egg layer is crossed with a brown egg layer the resulting offspring will lay olive tinted green eggs.

What deer! KC? Do I need to acquisition another type of vehicle? With deer, perhaps Santa's sleigh would be good? We can always pull a trailer with trail bikes, and snow mobiles, lunar land rovers ( or mars) whatever.
So, you don't think your previous plan would be affected by the deer? I think you are just trying to discourage me because you don't want me spying on what you are really up to! haha I am not so dumb after all, huh!?
Mel, I doubt that the hen came at all! You know how men are, which by the way takes you to my new Post (again incomplete ---cause it got so late so quickly tonight!)---unsaid part briefly: the guy was arrested!

I just don't feel up to being on the attack today--I am in a more mellow mood, laid back but having to think in the back of my mind that I need to get over and repair faucets, put in that new one for one that could not stand repair--- things like that for changing the subject from the hen!
