WOC09: Chapter II
Sunday, 16. August 2009, 18:28:11
Wooohaaa, the WOC finally got started! And some more hours and then it's my turn. Finally! Slowly but surely I am getting impatient, it is time to get the feet moving! My nerves are still pretty calm, but that might have something to do with the heavy dinner. With so much food in your belly, you have no space for butterflying nerves. What an easy solution against being nervous
.
This day was spent on a short map training in the morning, cheering the team runners at the middle qualification, reading, chatting, sleeping and drinking lots and lots of water. It is getting warmer and even if the temperature in the competition area is a bit lower, it is a good idea to fill up enough before tomorrows race.
The long distance qualification start at 09:00 tomorrow, I will head out in the forest at 09:23, so be nice and cross your fingers for me! I will do my best to run a race with as less time loss as possible and for sure fight till crossing the finish line!
Sometimes, the road, not the finish, is the main goal. You do not make the race in the finish, you make it on the way.
