the sunny side of life

Back on track

So, end of another week. Or, if seen a bit more positive - the beginning of a new week! Today just some easy running and stretching, pure pleasure in a sunny, ice-cold Vienna. Tomorrow real training starts again and I am looking forward to it! The rest-week has been physically easy and mentally hard, lots of head-work to be done and starting to work again after 10 days off which was partly pleasure, partly pure stress. So, I am looking forward to getting back to training focus.

My plan consist out of 2 long session of about 2h in 5:20-5:30/km, 1x 8-10Km in a 4:40 pace, 1x 5km in 4:40/km with a 1km kick-off afterwards, 1 intervall-session on the track, 2x strength and koordination, some stretching and 1 OL-session on a contourmap in Frohsdorf next Saturday. I am really hungry to do more orienteering, but I will anyway hold back a bit. It is still so early in the season, no reason to burn all the gas all ready.

This week I also spended some time analyzing the competitions and trainings from Portugal a bit more accurate. This has given me some things to work on, like lifting my head during the running, getting a better overwiew of the surrounding areas. Also running more straight on will be important, I am loosing time due to criss-cross running where it is not necessary. The positive things are that I am getting much less tired, even when running at a higher speed. And in the end it is easy: when you're less tired you are more able to read and understand the map and to take fast decisions. Then you make less mistakes and in the end that makes the run better. And then OL makes the most fun!

Brr...still winter!Auf zum Berge bezwingen
