Portugal - nice country, with very interesting forests and wild vegetation :)What can I say? I was in Portugal for about two weeks (6-17 february) and I lived a new orienteering experience. 7 orienteering runners from Romania chose to make the training camp in this country, where the temperature is very warm in this period of year (comparative to Romania). It was good to be there as we have done a lot of orienteering training and ran in interesting forests. We stayed in Praia de Vieira, 180 km from Porto and 100 meters from ocean :)It was so beautiful!
We've trained a lot and each of us looked forward to start Portugal O-Meeting, 4 days of competitions, with almost 2000 competitors.
From my point of view it was hard to compete with world elite, first of all I have a little injury, and second, certainly I wasn't physical strength for this kind of competitions. So I chose to run the two middle distance to M21A, and the long distances to M21B.
I don't want to enlarge upon too much, but I want to say, it was very hard to compete with so many people. I realize again, I'm so far from world elite, and that thought make me wish to be stronger, better and faster

A long time ago, after all not so long (time is relative)

, I started this blog and then I promised me to post a few words about every competitions. Today, I realize I was't able to do that. I think one reason is I express myself better in my language, romanian, and I prefer to post in that blog:
http://sport-orientare.blogspot.com. But the idea is to give more persons the opportunity to read about my orienteering experience. I hope they can learn from my mistakes.
I'm gonna make a short review about 2009. I run a lot of competitions in my country and others ( the most important races was 10 WRE in different locations: Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia and of course Romania). The results wasn't complete my expectations, but I told me everything has a start. So after many competitions and a injury who put me on the bench for a few weeks I finished my year with a beautiful training camp in Poiana Brasov in december.
It was a good year and I consider I learned more. So with the promise to became better in 2010 I started the new year.

I did't write a few mounts, and now I realize is march already :)So, I don't know what can I write first. I almost recover to my left knee after a long brake of training, almost 4 mounts. In this time I runed just a litlle, and most of all time I did other sports( swimming, schi, bike). I compete to our National Champion O-Schi, and I did that after 11 years

Last time I was to this kind of competition in 1997. It was nice and fun! I realized everyting is possible, if u realy want to do something.
So, today I began the training, with 77 minutes of running, almoust 12 km on the snow and ice. It was a nice experience.
So I consider this is the start of a new era :)In this weekend I'm gonna run to a competition (2 days) in Hungary, and I hope everything will be o.k. This year I had a lot of competitions, and most important is WOC, Miskolc, Hungary. I want to prepare good because I want to compete to the long distance. It's a strong battle for the 3 places of romanian team, but everything is possible!

I decide to write nothing about the courses witch I runed this wear, I already did that in other blog (
http://sport-orientare. blogspot.com), unfortunately is write in romanian language. So after all, is not so bad

From now I'm gonna write in this blog in english, for everyone who wanna know more about me and about my competitions. Right now I'm a little hurt to my left knee, and it was imperative to stop my training. I didn't run from Hungary, 3 weeks ago, wan I was to the first training in Miskolc for next WOC (WOC 2009 - Miskolc). It was interesting to see how run the elite orienteering, and I was very surprise to see the world champion of the middle distance in action. He is so good, and I'm so far away. But this is now. Next year I wanna prepare much better, and I want to compete to the WOC, long distance. It will be hard to qualify in our romanian team, because it's a lot of good sportsman and so younger

In march I'm gonna have 32 years and it's a little strange to compete with people of 21 - 25 years

But nothing is impossible! So, after my recover at the left knee I'm gonna start my training, and I wanna do everything, because I believe if you really want something it's possible. I know it's possible with a lot of work, but nobody said it's easy, just is possible

So everybody, look back because I'll come and nothing gone stop me!

So! I just wonder what can I write to the begining!I want to tell something about me, I think it's fair for everyone who will read my page to know me a litlle. I started orienteering at 11 years, in Baia Mare, Maramures county, a great town from Transilvania. I like the nature, and I like to do sport. In my life I did a lot of sports, alpine skiing, basket, footbal, martial-arts,swimming, climbing, and of course orienteering

Orienteering is my favourite sport, and now is a part of my life. I like running at the mountains. My history in orieentering had a little brake from 1998 - 2005. After 7 years I came back in that sport. It was so hard!In 2006 it was necessary to leave again the orienteering, but in 2007 I started again. Onestly, just in 2008 I runed a litlle much. So, everybody, welcome and enjoy it!
