Granny on fire

,

August 2004 we arranged to have an engagement party in our back garden. We set up the gazebo arranged the lights around the garden and connected up the stereo/cd player, put out the chairs and finally put the rather large garden candles all around for extra light and to keep the bugs away.
The guests started arriving and the party got going, before long all of our guests arrived and there was lots of eating, drinking, laughter, chatter and music blaring out. Nearing the end of the evening I went in doors for something or other. There was a really lot of laughing coming from the garden so I went out to find out what was going on and what I was missing. There was my, now husbands Granny (now 89) brushing flames from her trousers casually saying "oh dear never mind" Whilst everyone stood around laughing at her. She had stood too close to one of the candles and set herself alight. She saw the funny side of it, thank goodness and we all still talk about it at family gatherings. I just wished we had it on camera.

Westlife

Calling any Westlife fans out there. My husband has treated me to see westlife in concert next March, can't wait.

Mama Mia

My husband and I were treated to a show on Wednesday by my mother in-law. We went up to London to see Mama Mia! If you like the theatre go and see it. It was really good nothing what I expected but I enjoyed it very much. I even stood up at the end singing and clapping with the cast. Not on the stage I might add just by my seat.

Boobs on a plate??

Firstly I would Like to take this opportunity to apologize to anyone this may offend, but I am only talking of my own experience.

The other day I had to go for breast screening (mammogram), obviously feeling a bit nervous.:worried: The nurse called me in the room, after a few seconds she was looking at me rather strange, as I had no idea what to expect I felt a little nervous. Then the nurse said to me (looking at my boobs) :eyes: 'mmm' I don't want to offend or embarrass you but I think I'm going to have to go and get larger xray plates as you look as if you have rather large boobs. I had to laugh
Well talk about awkward positions, you have to lift and slap your boob on what they called a plate (not a dinner plate:)) then the nurse operates this machine to squish down on your boob and then a little more so your boob goes pretty flat. At the same time lift and pull the other one out of the way. What a state to be in. Then you have the same experience with the other one, but when I thought it was all over the nurse said "right now we have to do two more xrays from the side. So again legs apart one arm holding a rail and the other on my hip, head resting on a plastic support thing looking to the side, again the machine squeezing my boob. I was glad when it was all over.

I must say to all you people out there waiting for this procedure to be done, don't be put off as it doesn't hurt just awkward and a little uncomfortable. I am now waiting for the results to come back so not only having to be tortured I have to keep everything crossed as well
