Granny on fire

August 2004 we arranged to have an engagement party in our back garden. We set up the gazebo arranged the lights around the garden and connected up the stereo/cd player, put out the chairs and finally put the rather large garden candles all around for extra light and to keep the bugs away.
The guests started arriving and the party got going, before long all of our guests arrived and there was lots of eating, drinking, laughter, chatter and music blaring out. Nearing the end of the evening I went in doors for something or other. There was a really lot of laughing coming from the garden so I went out to find out what was going on and what I was missing. There was my, now husbands Granny (now 89) brushing flames from her trousers casually saying "oh dear never mind" Whilst everyone stood around laughing at her. She had stood too close to one of the candles and set herself alight. She saw the funny side of it, thank goodness and we all still talk about it at family gatherings. I just wished we had it on camera.
