The Light Side

It was my mother-in-law's birthday yesterday - Happy Birthday Maureen.



We went for birthday lunch at Flame at Tower Park with Tracey and my niece. It was an eat all you can Chinese buffet.

In the afternoon we then went to Burley in the New Forest, had a look round



and then took a tractor trailer ride to feed the deer in Burley Park (more pictures in the photo gallery).





A cup of tea and some birthday cake then followed



with proper tea at Tracey's in the evening.

Another lovely day out

Tis my birthday today - hooray!

We went into Ringwood for some lunch, then went to a 2 hour hack in the New Forest on horseback. It was absolutely brilliant.

There was a mixture of road riding as well as riding across the Forest.



We had a great time.



It was really nice heading off into the forest across the heather, walking areas which we'd probably not visit by foot, and we were able to get up close to some of the wild horses too.





Nobody fell off, which was a good thing, until the end, when I forgot the top of the horse was some way from the ground and misjudged it - the girl who led us round said it was the most spectacular dismount they'd seen for some time (no photo of it though!)

We're all walking a little like cowboys right now, but it was a great adventure.
