The Light Side

I managed to catch a BTCC smash in action. It involved Matt Jackson in his BMW. It started off with a lot of hustling going on in the pack as they came round Luffield



He then lost it and spun and was smacked by Chilton in his Honda



ripping off the front bumper and causing him to spin some more



Once he'd come to a stop, he headed off round the course and raced to the end (getting a cheer from the crowd every time he went past). Incredible.

Today, my friend Neil and I, went to Silverstone for the British Touring Car Championship.



As well at the BTCC there were a number of support races, including Formula BMW, Seat Cupra cup, Porche Carrera Cup, Renault Clio Cup and Ginetta Junior Championship.

It amounted to a full day of back to back racing. Plus it was wet so it was very exciting racing, with only a few races not requiring the safety car and the Juniors seem to have a spinner on nearly each lap.

A great day - BTCC is outstanding for close, bumper to bumper, exciting racing.
