holiday, Machynlleth, Wales, Roman Settlement
Today is effectively the last day of our holiday as we'll be travelling all day tomorrow. We've had a relaxing day today, hanging round the bungalow and onto Machynlleth for lunch.
In the afternoon I went for a walk round the local village Pennal where I discovered that nearby there is apparently evidence of a Roman settlement!

Llyn Clywedog, Newtown, Wales, Machynlleth
Wednesday is Market day in the nearest town, Machynlleth, so we headed into town to take a look. We also had a look round the local shops for local people.
We then headed to the mountains and sat overlooking the Afon Dulas valley eating lunch.
We drove on to the Llyn Clywedog reservoir, built in the sixties to control water supply to the Severn and South West.
From there we drove to and the around the small town, Llanidloes and then onto Newtown (new since the thirteenth century) and found the biggest town we've seen since we've been in Wales.
We're now back at the bungalow waiting for Debbie, Panos and kids to join us (they're staying with us overnight and tomorrow).
