Birthday weekend

A few weekends back (weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of August) was a right proper birthday weekend. On the Friday we celebrated my mother-in-law's 70th with a party

Then on Saturday it was my turn - my 40th. I was being miserable and didn't want to do anything, so we chilled at home in the morning, went to Lulworth (with my new camera

) for the afternoon and watched a DVD in the evening

And then on Sunday was my mother-in-law's actual birthday, so we we had a family meal and went down to the beach (catching a bit of the Bournemouth Airshow on the way)

A thoroughly good weekend - not bad for someone who didn't want to do much

Maureen's birthday

We spent Saturday afternoon and evening with Maureen celebrating her birthday. She had some friends over for a cream tea in the afternoon.

and then in the evening we went to the circus (where I wasn't allow to take any photos, so here's one before they started)

we had front row seats, which was a little scary for some of the acts who got a little too close for comfort. My niece was a little scared to start with, but by the time they'd started she loved every minute of it, with one of the performers commenting that they were all watching her having such a good time and enjoying the show.
