Just Add Sunshine ...

...and you have instant Summer
At least it certainly has felt like Summer around here for the past couple of weeks. All that snow that was piled up on my front lawn and at the end of the driveway ...all gone. You would almost say it never existed if you hadn't been around when it all fell.
Temperatures around here have been in the twenties, topping out at 27 degrees and dropping back to 23 for the remainder of this week. Definitely no complaints from this guy about all the sunshine. I know it's still early, but I've been thinking about my little garden and just how to arrange it all.
Right now I've got a lot of native plants growing, echinacea, daisies, that kind of thing. The plants are around my bird feeders and the bird bath itself. They help to discourage pigeons from landing on the ground to feed on anything dropped by other birds and they seem to bring a lot of different types of birds to my yard.
I've gotten myself back into walking through the neighbourhood and seeing all the changes that I missed over the winter. There are a few new interesting little shops that opened up, my favourite chocolate place (they make the best fudge ever) has opened up a little patio outside for coffee and chocolholics to sit at; half the restaurants, cafes and pubs have followed suite with all the sunshine.
Yes lots of sunshine no more boots, coats or gloves. Of course that goes for all the women as well and being a leg man ...all I can say is ...
My new machine is running Vista Ultimate 64 bit on an Intel Q6700 processor, using 8 gigs of ram and two 500 gig of hard drives with a pair of ATI 3870 video cards; Photoshop has never run so fast. This beast makes my now dead dual Xeon machine look like a dinosaur.
I did find out what was causing me all the grief with the other machine; it was the motherboard burning itself out. No complaints about that either, it gave me five years. Later on I'll buy a new board and rebuild it, a server machine always comes in handy around here.
