Time Killer ...The Witcher

I'm not much of a gamer type, if there is such a thing; but I saw this game on my son's machine and had to check it out for myself.
The Witcher has taken up a large chunk of my down time lately as it has me engrossed in solving riddles (quests) and killing monsters. Unlike the bulk of the games that I see, this one at least forces you to think and hopefully solve your quest before you can move forward; "The Witcher" isn't just killing monsters and assasins.
I'll admit, the last time I played any type of game, "Pong" was all the rage; I sort of remember playing "Myst" but that's about it for me. Since those early days, graphics have come a long way.
In order to get the entire effect of it all you do need a seriously powerful machine to run it. The minimum requirements will let you play but the game is slow even if you crank down the display settings in the options panel.
"Welcome to a world that knows no mercy"
"The story of “The Witcher” is set in the realm of bestselling fantasy saga by the same title, conjured to life by Andrzej Sapkowski – one of the most acclaimed Polish contemporary writers. It is into his unique world of pervasive magic, bitter conflict, and occasional dark humor, that you will be immersed. Bare in mind, however, that your voluntary entry into this world will most definitely not allow for any trace of compassion or leniency – esteem and the right to live are hard to come by."
The game is rated for "Mature" players with its blood and gore, prostitutes and some of the language but when its all said and done ...this game has me losing track of time.
If you are interested in checking it out for yourself, there is a demo available to play. Sorry, haven't checked that out myself but it is probably a good way to see if you'd like to play.
Back to playing in Chapter 4 of my adventure.

Not just a whip out your bazooka and blast them, you have to earn your weapons by solving the quests, choosing sides in a war and seeing how it all plays out. Every outcome is different depending on what you do.
