What were they thinking?
Italian taxpayers were shocked this week to find the telling details of their 2005 tax returns posted online in what government officials defended, briefly, as an exercise in transparency. For a few hours on Wednesday, Italians clicked away on the government site to peek at the financial information of their friends and neighbours before the tax authorities had second thoughts.
Not so sure about this.
In what seems sure to be an uphill battle, residents of a Greek island Lesbos are heading to court to try to reclaim the term "lesbians" to mean solely people from their island. In court papers, the Greek Lesbians say the dominance of the sexualized meaning causes daily problems and embarrassment for the island's inhabitants.
Closer to home
An escaped lion caused quite a commotion in parts of Quebec as police conducted an extensive two-day search for the missing six-month-old cub, named Boomer. Captured by a Quebec provincial police officer who strode up and grabbed the little lost lion by his collar, Boomer is now in the temporary care of the Granby Zoo, in Quebec's Eastern Townships.

The Greeks are definitely going to have a tough time with their court case. An unabridged dictionary defines lesbian as being a native of Lesbos as well as a female homosexual.
–adjective
1. of or pertaining to Lesbos.
2. (usually lowercase) of, pertaining to, or characteristic of female homosexuality.
3. (usually lowercase) erotic; sensual.
–noun
4. an inhabitant of Lesbos.
5. (usually lowercase) a female homosexual.
Can't see them winning anything soon.
Boomer was purchased when he was 3 days old by a family in Cobden ON. apparently he was sent to this other guys house to be baby sat and ...he walked away.
Why anyone would want a lion cub as a pet is unknown to me. I like critters but ... I also don't want to be on their menu.
As for the pic. I'm sure she makes her parents proud.
