History Lives

I'm sure you've probably seen this painting online by now - if you haven't here it is.
Painted by Dai Dudu, Li Tiezi, and Zhang An in 2006 this is a huge oil on canvas work featuring historical people. Can you make history anymore exciting?
When you open up the large, much larger file be sure to check out Dante in the top right corner along with the three artists.
If you want to view this as an html file with links to the Wikipedia entries of those in the painting then open this file.
This is really an amazing painting!

WOW - there's been an online community debating over some of the identities in the painting. It's become quite a game to name them all.
Not a big soccer fan myself. I recognized Pele but only because of what I know about some of his kicks.

The debate is over some of the identities in the painting. Is that Oppenheimer or Grant? Historical nerds are all wondering.
Smartly the artists aren't saying, it keeps the interest high.
