Blood Pressure

What a day!

I've been reloading software into my laptop the past couple of days, the hard way. Seems that after updating the BIOS my recovery disks became useless; but that's not what this is about.

Normally I watch the news at 6:00 PM almost religiously, even though most of it bores me to tears or it just depresses me. Lately though I haven't bothered with watching television at all and honestly I'm not missing it.

There are far more interesting things to be doing.

News coverage online is far better without the silly people reading it to you.

Crooked politicians, wasted tax payer dollars, overpaid cry baby hockey players, gold missing, apologies for speaking your mind in this politically correct world; it never ends.

No apologies from me for this, I'm about to speak my mind.

This country, Canada, does not need a $20 million dollar inquiry into ex prime minister Mulroney and Karlheinz Schreiber's business dealings. We all know Mulroney was and is a crook. How do you accept $300,000. dollars in cash handed to you secretly and then prove it was all innocent. Particularly when you don't declare it as income for 5 years and only then because this inquiry made it public!

Lyin' Brian as he is known earned that nick name by living up to it. Too bad this inquiry isn't able to lay criminal charges!

Danny Heatley of the Ottawa Senators hockey team wants out of Ottawa. Trade me or else he says! Screw him, let him go and good riddance just another overpaid, under worked cry baby thinking he's God's gift to us all. Personally I don't think any player on any sports team is worth the millions they get paid.

The Royal Canadian Mint is calling in the mounties to help find their missing gold. Seems they've misplaced, lost, or simply screwed up in their book keeping and don't know where to begin. Brian's back in town - check his pockets!

John Baird our illustrious loud mouthed transportation minister ended up having to apologize for saying something everybody wants to say and few have the guts to. In a private conversation overheard (eaves dropped) on by media he said

"Twenty-seven hundred people (municipalities) got it right. They (Toronto) didn't. That is not a partnership and they're bitching at us," Baird was overheard saying. "They should f--- off."

Hey Toronto - f--- Off, you aren't the centre of the universe - live with it.

With all the BS in the news, not watching it is probably a whole lot better for my blood pressure.

Sunday Morning

, ,

Up and awake very early this morning, 5:30AM on a Sunday is almost ridiculous! However, I've got to say it was worth it.

The sun was shining, the neighbourhood still sleeping and all you could hear were the birds in the trees. Yes, it was worth being awake.

Unfortunately here it is less than 4 hours later and the clouds have once again moved in. The weather forecast calls for showers right through to Thursday, if this keeps up nobody will have to worry about getting a sun burn.

Today there are over 50 antique cars in the market and vintage aircraft flying overhead heading to the aviation museum. Which way should I head?

I'm thinking the market and the cars - my head isn't often in the clouds.

Rambling

, , ,

Before I begin - WOW! Espen this Opera 10 is fantastic! I only hope that everyone I show it to on my travels agrees with me that it is the best browser available. Keep up the excellent work.

So I've been home for a couple of days now, but you wouldn't know it by the state of the place. The lawn needs cutting, the laundry pile is high, housework, I'm not even going there.

Ottawa from what I was told had nothing but rain for a week solid, cold temperatures and the political hot air was a non issue. Looking around I was trying to figure out where to begin, the sun was shining, not too hot not too cold, just right for getting outside and cutting the grass.

Nope wasn't going to happen, I got as far as puling out the lawn mower when I spotted a bunny in the grass having itself a snooze.

I left the lawn mower and sat watching this little animal almost as intently as it was watching me.

The grass can wait for another day.

Laundry - maybe?

Anyone that knows me, knows right away I absolutely detest doing laundry. If I could I'd buy new clothes rather than wash them or send it all out to let someone else do it for me. Uggh laundry - I hate it.

Nope didn't do laundry either. Can you spell P-R-O-C-R-A-S-T-I-N-A-T-E

What to do, need to feel like I'm doing something without actually doing anything. I was hit with the sudden desire to find out how the neighbourhood cat was. This cat was abandoned over a year ago and nobody has ever been able to catch her; she's gone feral but still hangs around people. She's known as Miss Kitty to the neighbours here and despite being a feral cat is fed and watered at 4 homes.

Miss Kitty has so far as I know had three litters of kittens. The first litter consisted of two that survived, nobody knows where those little cats are.

The second litter had only one survivor and I'm happy to say that Skittles as he is known lives inside and is well cared for. This last litter has two of the cutest little fur balls running and playing in the yard next door. The plan is to catch these little beasts and get them homes. So far catching them is easy to talk about - hard to do. Suggestions anyone?

In the meantime I'm still trying to decide where to begin with the list of things to do. I could watch it grow even longer. I think I'll just have another cup of coffee and wait for an epiphany.

Home

It's always good to be home!

As much as I enjoyed being away and meeting new people, there is nothing like being able to sleep in your own bed.

Fredericton as I discovered is really not my kind of place to be. I liked the city well enough, its small, compact and very clean and green with tree lined streets and public gardens; its just a little too sleepy.

Once you walk through the gardens and along the paths - there really isn't much else to do. I'm glad I got to see the city, but I'm even happier to be home.

What does Kim Jong have to do with this post?

Absolutely nothing - the captions made me laugh.
