china, nsfw, photography, civilization
I've said this before and I'm saying it again - I spend a lot of time online. If I'm not working online, I'm researching or I'm preparing the next bunch of video tutorials, or and this is my favourite part I'm looking at some of the things that people send me to look at.
Yes there are definitely some odd things but there are even more great and wonderful things.

Take for example a Chinese photographer by the name of
Chen Zhun.
Here for your Sailor Moon type fantasy is a Chen Zhun anime style photo set. You tell me - are these girls genetically modified or is it Photoshop that gives them the long legs.
Looking for more of his photos, then be sure to visit either
Chinese Tools or his
Linked In page. Some photos may be considered NSFW.

Do you remember playing in the sand? Dragging your fingers through the sand and making little pictures or leaving your initials behind only to have a wave come along and wipe it all out.

Meet
Jim Denevan a kid that never grew up.
Jim has been drawing in the sand for a long time and he's famous for it! Why, you are asking. Jim's drawings tend to be 30 miles or more longer and he does it with nothing but a stick. No measuring tools, just a stroll along a beach when the tide is out.
All those intricate patterns - washed away in a few minutes once the tide returns. Simply amazing!
You can find more images from his web site at:

Seems the economic crisis around the world is really affecting Russians. According to a recent report consumption of the national drink vodka is at an all time low.

Stockpiles of the drink were six times higher at the start of the month than at the same time last year simply because factories are producing it faster than it is being drunk.
According to Pavel Shapkin, the president of the National Alcohol Association "People are having to save money, including on drinks, and this is connected to the impact of the financial crisis on people's disposable incomes,"
Disposable income? Shouldn't it be flushable income?

Yesterday was
Guinness World Record Day, the annual event where people across the globe try to set records so their legacies can live forever in Guinness' archival text that sits perched on the back of toilets everywhere.
Among the day's slated attempts include the Largest Gathering of People Wearing Underpants, Most People Running in High Heeled Shoes and Most Beer Steins Carried over 40 meters.
Some of the oddest records are ...

With the news focusing on world wide economic woes and job losses, it's getting harder and harder to find the funny side of people.
Sure there are lots of strange things happening but I like to try to present the lighter side if I can. With that in mind, here's a couple of odd balls I managed to dig up.
