The Weekend

Once a year my neighbourhood gets invaded by people that hardly know we are here. Westboro is a quiet little area of the city that has relatively no crime, easy access to all the major routes, a transit service that has just about every bus route in the city running on it and this weekend I'm sure we have almost the entire city's parking control officers as well.
Since I've lived here there has been a street party in one form or another every second weekend in June and this year is no exception. There are bands playing on every block, children bouncing from one play area to another and of course curb to curb people.
For the local businesses along the road its a bonus time, lots of people lots of sales, for local artists its a means to showing their work to the crowds that don't normally see it, to the residents its a lot of fun with a few head aches.
