Normally I don't like to post anything about music, that is Matthew's forte. This is a bit of an exception.
A couple of days ago I was sent a link to a you tube video, I didn't know what to expect; no telling me what it was, just a "here check this out". The kind of link you wouldn't open unless you knew the sender was as paranoid about security as you were.
What I heard - I liked!
Rodrigo y Gabriela are two very good accoustic guitarists. Originally from Mexico City where they met as teenagers, at the Casa de Cultura, and now live in Ireland. Go figure!
Their music is hard to describe, world maybe with rock tossed in their latest album has them playing a cover of Stairway to Heaven.
Check them out for yourself at: Rodrigo y Gabriela their home page or on YouTube for even more video.
Can't let a weekend go by without at least one silly post, not my post being silly - just the stuff in it!
What else are weekends for if not for fun. With out further fanfare, here's a couple of interesting little things.
Kool Aid Man Does Community Service
With all the walls he's run through over the years, its about time some of them get patched up.
Gerle Kittler lies asleep at a station blissfully unaware his mates carried him there after he dozed off at a party.
They wheeled still-sleeping Gerle, 25, and the sofa more than a mile to the local station near Warngau, Germany, and put him on a train after buying a single ticket for him and a bike ticket for the settee.
He only woke up on a platform four miles down the line in Warngau, Germany, still stretched out on his couch being quizzed by police.
"I always sleep like a baby so I didn't notice anything until the cops shook me awake and demanded my ID. I thought I was in the middle of a bad movie," said Gerle.
A second rude awakening came when he realised he had no cash and his mobile battery was flat.
"I ran four miles home and went straight back to bed," he said.

The Naked Cowboy might be considered a quirky asset to New York City's tourism industry. Now the Times Square traffic-stopper says he'd make a mighty fine mayor.
Robert Burck, who performs in his underwear, made his candidacy official Wednesday. He aims to give the buttoned-up, third-term hopeful, billionaire Michael Bloomberg, a run for his money.
Burck says: "Being naked is a whole lot more than having no clothes on: It's about transparency in politics, it's about telling the naked truth."
Burck does a brisk business posing for pictures with tourists. His standard fashion statement is a cowboy hat, boots, white briefs and a guitar strapped to his bare chest.
As for campaign funds, he says: "I have no expenses. I own 40 pairs of underwear, a car and a suitcase."
Better there than here. Here he'd freeze his ass off.
This year, like every other year the crowds at Bluesfest just keep getting bigger, and louder!
Most people think it is the music that is too loud, personally I think it's the people. Think about it - 30 thousand screaming fans gathered in an outdoor venue. You betcha the music is going to be loud, but the fans will be even louder.
So to all those people in this city bitching about "the noise" I've got one thing to say ...Long live music!
