SwiftKey replacement Android Keyboard

,

I have had a couple of gripes with the default Android keyboard. As I use the keyboard lots - for writing SMS messages, Mails, entering URLs and filling out web forms - it is important that it is effective to use.

My pet grumbles have been:
  • Prediction seems to just take random words from the dictionary, without looking at sentence structure
  • Can only predict in one language at a time, annoying for those of us who use several languages
  • When forgetting to switch language, you end up adding new words from the second language to the user dictionary

I was very pleased when a friend of mine pointed out that you can download a whole new keyboard from the Market. This one seems to address all my needs: SwiftKey
  • Prediction based on AI and your SMS archive - words you actually use often
  • Can predict in two languages at a time
  • Easy to switch keyboard layout
  • More efficient keyboard layout, especially when pressing the '123' key to get up keypad and punctuation side by side

Give it a try!
