Thank you for taking the time to look at my mutterings!
If for some reason something doesn't come across correctly, please let me know! My goal is to find the best way to cause the least confusion while providing the most knowledge possible on how to do.

Did you know that all images in each article are clickable?
That is correct! I try to have a larger, clearer, or simply the origin point for each image hidden behind a link. I also attempt to use/modify only Creative Commons imagery where I take not a screenshot or create it on my own.

Setting Opera Mobile 10 to be the default reader for locally-hosted files under WM 6.1.

Internet Explorer Mobile can be somewhat of a pain to use for the viewing for locally-hosted files, so this allows one to instead use the power of Opera! bigsmile

I found the default settings to limit to only the opening of remotely-hosted files, so I figured that I'd instead force it to use the file:// protocol.

Graphical Thinkpad Trackpoint configuration under Linux

Do note that this tutorial is likely in the process of becoming outdated as of Ubuntu 9.10. The gpointing-device-settings utility appears to be taking over the function of configure-trackpoint. It is in the Ubuntu 9.10+ universe repository and may not work with previous releases of Ubuntu.


Setting up a IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad for use under Linux can be quite easy, but there is an issue that is not properly dealt with so as to be easily and graphically done. That is, the proper ability to configure the Trackpoint so it doesn't kill ones finger(s) while it's in use due to the inability to properly make the sensitivity go well above what mice and touchpads need. Well, thankfully Cheuksan Edward Wang has created a Gnome-native GUI that easily enables the adjusting and control of the enhanced abilities of Stephen Evanchik's Trackpoint driver through his program, configure-trackpoint.
