We found out on the morning of the 3rd, that Brett has been given an execution date of April 7th, 2009.

IJPC will be assisting in drafting petitions and we will let everyone know as soon as that has been finished. For those of you that may be unfamiliar with the appeal process relating to death penalty cases;
Never assume that if someone is innocent they will not be executed. The laws governing what is allow to be introduced on appeal are almost impossible to meet.

It truly was hard news our family was given, though not unexpected. Sadly we were not the only family as Jeff Hill from Ohio also received his date and I read online that in another state 5 more men received dates.
Such hard, hard news for any family, let alone to receive just before this coming holiday.
