Even if Opera is (far) away from being perfect (Well, I do know, that my requirements are not those of "normal" people :wink: but Opera needs to get faster again as it's freezing too ofen. :frown: ), it's just a really great program :up: and I don't want to live without it! I'm sure, I'm not even able to hide my fascination, admiration nor my excitement to anybody surfing my blog. :D

Now Opera opens it's sack full of gifts (one more time), just to get YOUR opinion about what you like (most) about your preferred browser (just speaking of the Opera browser, if anybody should be thinking something else like... IE perhaps? Homer: Doh! monkey ). Everybody posting her/his oppionion will be on the list for the random drawings for different prizes from steelseries (btw: I've even got one of those flexible steelseries mousepads :up:). So, go ahead!

You'll find my list at the end of this post. Perhaps there's something in it, you didn't even know or you want to ask about or discuss. Feel free to post! :smile:

when the plus are more than the minus,
I am a loyal fan :smile:
Opera is a plus in my books :yes:

these headphones look quite nice :wink:

what wand and sessions do you mean??

ääähhh... "something in it you didn't even know".. i think i just know half of the features you mentionned ^^

thobi 9. March 2009, 21:18

@ellinidata
there are definitely more positive than negative points :smile: but in the past there have been less negative. seems the more features opera gets, the more bugs... :frown:

@christl
i think you know those features just not there names :wink:
wand -> passwordmanager
sessions -> safed windows and tabs which can be loaded with opera starting eg (to continue where you quit the last time)
but if you like i'll show you some tips&tricks next time visiting :smile:

To me it's hard to find any negative points concerning Opera. Right now I'm using version 10alpha and I LOVE it. I especially like

the great CSS and SVG support
mouse gestures
rendering speed
good memory usage
the highly configurable sidebar
sessions
tab behaviour (duplicate, manually sorting, moving tabs outside to create new window, moving tabs from one window to another, ...)
the address bar search ("g whatImlookingfor" for Google for example)
the super easy in page search (just hit the dot key and start searching)
Opera Link
Site preferences

I dislike
there is no option to start a fast session (not using the last session, neither remembering the current)
tabs not groupable
the transfer tool has no search
Dragonfly is already good, but still needs some development
an easier way to perform a clean reload of a website (without using the cache, but instead overwriting the cached files), like pressing ctrl+shift+F5

Still... I LOVE Opera. Always the first software I install on any of my computers. :wizard:

well, i don't think that the memory usage could be generally classified as good. my opera is running 24/7 and i've got to restart it at least every second day because it's using more than 1gb (50%) of my virtual memory slowing down my pc to a minimum :frown:
also the rss-feed stops working from time to time which forces me to restart too.
further opera freezes a lot of times which also causes mouse gestures not being recognized correctly (instead of closing tabs, most of the time opera opens a new one for me :frown: ).
and finally the support has been, IME, better some years ago.

Weird... my Opera on Linux runs 24/7 with around 70-80 tabs without any reboot/restart or trouble since 12th of January this year. Right now it uses 347MB... that pretty fine imho. :up:
