Most of you know, that I'm a huge fan of Opera since I came across it in 2001. Anyone else seem to have missed my bunch of blog posts about Opera, myself being MyOpera "Member of the Week" , being part of the MyOpera community page or visiting the Opera headquarter or just has never tried to talk with me about computer But hey, no problem, just go ahead reading or contact me!
With the release of the latest Opera 10 desktop browser there came up a lot of discussion about "Why should I use Opera? I already have IE/FF/Safari/...". Well, there is no perfect answer to this question, but there are a lot of reasons why I really use Opera 10 even if it is - like everything else - not up to 100% perfect. But it is damn close!
I was out at Sognsvann, which is a lake just around the corner where I'm living right now here in Oslo, to take some (IME amazing, sorry ) photos! So if you haven't had a look into my gallery, feel free to do so. If you already have seen the Sognsvann-photos, I added some new ones now click!
It's always amazing to see how many people visit my blog. It's also interesting how they find my blog. While it's been my visit at Opera's and the article on the community page, which helped me to get more than 3.500 page views within the last 10 days, it's normally my photos and the Google-services through which my visitors make their way to my.opera.com/thobi
I often have a look at the counter at hitslink.com (whose service is included for free with every my.opera-blog!). Today I recognized, that the number of unique visitors hit the mark of 6.500 the last and the page views climbed up to more than 21.000. So I thought it's time to write something! I think that's really amazing and I have to repeat what I usually tend to say: I don't know why all these people are coming here, but I appreciate the visit of every single one of those 6.519
Thanks a lot!
Edit: ah, just found my blog entry from 6th of sep 2008 about the 100k visitors. not a year later it's already 150k (but having so many different numbers, i'm a bit confused now ) nothing against tamil's numbers, but hey, he's got the more informative blog than i do; especially for opera fans
Today I've been visiting Opera's Headquarter in Oslo. It's been really fun to meet the people over there (including Kompis). Thanks to Alexandra & EspenAO again for inviting me over! Choose Opera: A community member stopping by!
One month ago I wrote about the Facebook-group, which has been founded by my dear uncle. With the help of some "friends" and colleagues of mine, some of his and some friends of my mother they really did it: They got 60 people to join this damn group... I haven't ever thought that they would let everybody (meaning totally strangers to me) join my "fanclub". But what can I tell? They did... Cheap victory IME...
And this after it's clear, that Facebook doesn't use the private data wisely from my POV.
Edit: After 87 in the morning it's now 101 members...
At the moment Opera is collecting questions which Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner is going to answer personally. Questions can be submitted via the forums. My Opera users are asked for voting for the most interesting/popular ones the day after. So go on and submit your question or vote for already submitted ones: Get up close and personal with Jon.
My question is on voting till 24th around noon. At the moment it's in leading position. So the chances are good that I (and we) will get an answer
But if you got a minute take the time to vote for it and/or the other questions for day 3 here!
And if you're asking yourself which curious question came into my mind, here it is: If you get the chance to change anything in the Opera history, what would you change?
As I'm sitting in a library right now and the music on my phone got heard too often I needed something new. Luckily I just had installed a software called "Mobbler" on my S60-mobile and so I ran into lastfm. I know it's nothing new, but I never noticed how good this service is
So I got myself an account there and if you also do so, we could share our music - if you like to.
Yesterday I've been told that there's a group on facebook, which just has been founded as a let's say fan club ; for me
The name of the group is like "We'd like to see thobi on facebook!" and the group is growing fast. After 8 members yesterday and 12 five hours ago, there seem to be 14 members now (edit: no, 17 after another hour ).
