2009-06-27 Snow Patrol again

With about 45 minutes it has been a shorter gig than the concert one month ago, but what else can you expect from a free (festival) concert? Even though it has been just a great event - one more time!

Swiss-German or anything else? ;-)

, , ,

It's really lovely if you don't understand a single word. Hopefully this will change till fall. And no, I'm not talking about Swiss-German because I (believe that I) do understand that (meaning Swiss-German but not the following  ): Listen to the music

2009-05-26 Snow Patrol live in Vienna

, , , ...

Two days after the AC/DC concert Snow Patrol has been visiting Vienna. I've been lucky enough to get tickets and I'm still captivated and enchanted by the magic of the show and the music. It was just THE concert of the year and I'm looking forward to see them again in just one month at the Donauinselfest and probably next year at the U2 concert as - officially - supporting act Homer: Doh! Well, why not. The U2 tickets will be pricey enough for getting this addon "for free".

I got two videos (sorry for the bad quality, but the camera already became older without getting new features  ). The first one is Snow Patrol's hit "Run", which has been covered by Leona Lewis shortly. I started recording after Gary's first try, which he had to cancel because he didn't get the lyrics right in the first place *lol* This just made the concert more personally because of his reaction and the following reaction of the audience. It was a moment to take out the earplugs and to sing along with a couple of hundred people and the man with the guitar who has "forgotten" the lyrics :D Awesome, awesome, sooo awesome!

Unfortunately my camera ran out of space while recording the second video  Just wanna quote the one girl screaming: "SING IT!" :jester:

last.fm

As I'm sitting in a library right now and the music on my phone got heard too often I needed something new. Luckily I just had installed a software called "Mobbler" on my S60-mobile and so I ran into lastfm. I know it's nothing new, but I never noticed how good this service is

So I got myself an account there and if you also do so, we could share our music - if you like to.

My profile.

Edit: I guess I have to withdraw what I said before. Either am I not able to use this service correctly or it's not free as I thought first.

get paid for downloading music

, , ,

Normally you have to pay for music and if you are a good person, you do pay for good music
If you are lucky you occasionally get songs for free. But I never got paid for downloading an album - till today.

Philadelphia band Officer Roseland is doing their part to stimulate the economy. The group is paying one dollar for every download of their album Stimulus Package. Music lovers or fans of innovative marketing can head to the band's website and choose from two download options. The first is labeled "Take" and makes the downloading party one dollar richer. The other, "Give" makes donation in same amount to the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation. Think about it this way: even if the album isn't any good, simply checking the "Give" option counts as your good deed for the day. Then again, how much money does Richard Dreyfuss need, anyway? You could invest that dollar in the Dr. Pepper Axl failed to deliver in November. Either way, you come out a winner.

Maria Mena, AC/DC, Metallica and more to go...

, , , ...

Well, this year will bring some good musicians to Austria again  :hat:
There will be AC/DC, Metallica, The Eagles, Maria Mena, Bruce Springsteen just to specify a couple of them.
As I got tickets for Maria Mena today, for AC/DC last week and already sold my tickets for Metallica to my little brother (well, more his friends  ), I'll have to try to get some Eagles-tickets. But prices of about 100 EUR each are more than just a bit expensive :frown:

But lucky as I am, I didn't have to pay for any of those  (except Metallica, which I therefore sold again because I'm not a huge fan of it) and so I can save my money for big things coming up (hopefully). But more to come in April I hope. :sherlock: But EspenAO, let me tell, you can try getting prepared anyhow :D :jester:

metallica's 'death magnetic' sold two weeks early at french record store?

, ,

Marketing gag or just a mistake?

According to several unconfirmed Internet reports, a French record store allegedly began selling copies of the new METALLICA album "Death Magnetic" earlier today nearly two weeks ahead of the CD's scheduled September 12 worldwide release date. A couple of the fans that were lucky enough to purchase these early copies have posted pictures of what is apparently the album's final packaging.

There's no question about the fact, that the album is already widely available online. How ironic as Metallica is one of the biggest slashers of internet piracy
