opera 10 out now!

,

Finally Opera released their next generation browser Opera 10. I'm using Opera 10 since I don't know when in 2008. So more than a year, since the first snapshot came out. And I just have to tell you that it is really great. So Just click the link and grab it to test it! If you shouldn't like it, no problem, use it as a secondary browser or uninstall it. But I don't think this will happen smile

21.527 page views so far in 2009

It's always amazing to see how many people visit my blog. It's also interesting how they find my blog. While it's been my visit at Opera's and the article on the community page, which helped me to get more than 3.500 page views within the last 10 days, it's normally my photos and the Google-services through which my visitors make their way to my.opera.com/thobi yes

I often have a look at the counter at hitslink.com (whose service is included for free with every my.opera-blog!). Today I recognized, that the number of unique visitors hit the mark of 6.500 the last and the page views climbed up to more than 21.000. So I thought it's time to write something! cheers
I think that's really amazing and I have to repeat what I usually tend to say: I don't know why all these people are coming here, but I appreciate the visit of every single one of those 6.519 party

Thanks a lot! smile

Edit: ah, just found my blog entry from 6th of sep 2008 about the 100k visitors. not a year later it's already 150k party (but having so many different numbers, i'm a bit confused now knockout )
nothing against tamil's numbers, but hey, he's got the more informative blog than i do; especially for opera fans wink

face the future with opera face gestures

,

Eight years ago, Mouse Gestures was introduced as a way to speed up your interaction with the browser, and focus on what's important: Content. In 2005, Voice Navigation was introduced, and more recently we've worked with Nintendo to create a browser that takes full advantage of the "Wiimote" and later, the touchscreen in the DSi.

Looking ahead, we recognize the future importance of touch interfaces, but we believe that there is another input device that is already present in most new computers and it's ready to enable a whole new way of user-interaction: The Webcam.

Today we introduce Face Gestures, a revolutionary technology designed to make interacting with Opera easier on computers with cameras. Face Gestures lets you perform frequent browsing operations with natural and easy to make face gestures. By using an internal technology dubbed Face Observation Opera Language, we are able to recognize pre-determined facial expressions and match them to commands on the Opera browser.

Browse documents on a server via your mobile phone just in time. Look at a PDF-document with 466 pages just as it would be saved on your mobile phone instead of transfered via GPRS/UMTS. Just grab the data you really need from the server which makes everything looking really smooth.

WE did it: my.opera got its 2m users!

It's way too cool: We've got 2 million users in OUR community now! yikes

Opera is celebrating cheers and there's also a message from Jon (Opera's CEO):

So let us continue to spread the word, spock make use of the FREE space we (and everybody else!) get(s) here and create, share, talk ... do whatever you want to do! up wizard

sing That's the way aha, aha, I like it! wink
