Where´s Tiago? Part II

On the 1st November Tiago went to the II Troféu Sabugueiro. There was held a relay competition in the morning and a sprint one in the afternoon. Tiago run the last course, after Celso Moiteiro and Joaquim Sousa, and won with an advantage of more than 20 minutes to the second team.
In the afternoon Tiago also won the sprint event, completing the 3.2 km in 17min 57sec.

On the 2nd November was COC´s 10th aniversary in Leiria. So Tiago went there for a meeting of all the "COC Family". As i know they had a course in the morning and a lunch, where several athletes were distinguished... Tiago has been considered best foot-o athlete of the year! :smile:

Where is Tiago?!?

The past few weeks Tiago has been really busy on getting into the routine of being a med student, training and also traveling between his home and college in Lisbon... So this time is up to me to give you news about what´s going on with him.

18/19 October - COC training camp.

This weekend Tiago went to Leiria where COC held a full training weekend for their elite athletes.

25/26 October - II Trofeo Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha - Ciudad de Toledo

Arround two weeks ago Tiago went do Spain to run the "Ciudad Imperial Trofeo". As he was, and still is, adapting to his new condition in life, his expectations were not real high... But suddenly everything came to a happy ending!!! This journey end up the best way possible - Tiago had a wonderful performance and wrote is name on this competition´s winners history.

And there´s more to come...

- Troféu Sabugueiro;
- Coc´s anniversary.

Where we are?

Gnesta, in Sweden was the chosen place to the beginning of a new season.
As a result of a deal between COC – Portugal and OK Klemmingen – Sweden, me (Tiago) and Andreia Silva came to spend some days training on Swedish terrains.
We came to Sweden last Monday (15.09.08) and we come back to Portugal next Thursday (25.09.08). A lot of trainings have been done by us, normal courses, long distance legs, middle distance controls, compass training, fast orienteering, night orienteering, ... The maps where are very interesting and challenging.
Yesterday, (20.09.08) took place in Mariestad (near Sodertalje) Long Distance Qualification to the Swedish Championships. We can’t get the final that will be today (21.09.08), but was a really nice experience. I was 19th in heart C but just the 10th best times get the final. Andris Jubelis, from OK Klemmingen, that run the same heart as me was 10th and get the final.
