This year the World University Orinteering Championships took place in Tartu (Estonia).
From July 29th to August 2nd, the Portuguese University Orienteering Team fought in estonian terrains.

Paulo Franco, Tiago Romão, Maria Sá, Miguel Silva, Jorge Fortunato and Luís Ferreira (Team Leader) were the portuguese names in the competitions.

Tuesday - July 29th
- Model Event
- Opening Ceremony

The terrain of the Model Event was quite easy. Nice to rise up the trust in myself.

Wednesday - July 30th
- Sprint distance competition

It was a really fast competition in a easy terrain. I did quite a perfect race, however, to control 16 I lost some time because I didn´t see an impasseble fence.

Long Distance was a really hard competiton for me! 13,2 km in a very shut terrain where I had hughe difficulties.
I made a big mistake to the first control and in the last four.

After some good races, Relay couldn´t be worst. I was the last element of the team and I started almost in the last position, however, I started really fast and with a good orienteering but to control 4 I went in a wrong direction and I lost contact with the map. Some minutes after I hadn´t any idea here I was, and I gave up. Unfortunatly I disqualified my team.
