Two pounds of blueberries invading everything. This is pretty refreshing.

breakfast, food, eating
Breakfast time! I'm having myself a nice bowl of the Kashi branded shredded wheat cereal. Typically it's a bit lackluster, but it's livened up with the simple addition of my secret weapon: blueberries! Safeway's got 2 pound packages of blueberries on sale for about $5.50. I've been meaning to eat more fruits, and at such a great price, it couldn't be passed up. To top it off, the berries are large, firm, and sweeter than they are tart.
nb: Got the blueberries on Tuesday at the Beretania store, so don't know how much longer they'll be around.

Went to Genki Sushi for dinner today. Their spicy tuna bowl was pretty good. I usually get the regular spicy tuna sushi ($2), but decide to try out the bowl this time ($2.60). For the extra 60 cents, there was at least half-again as much fish, twice the rice, and a drizzle of sweet teriyaki sauce. There's on nori, but it's still tasty and is one of their better valued items.

sucks!, eating, food

We don't
make reheat it til you order it!
Coming home on a Sunday evening I got a call to swing by Jack in the Box to get a Sausage Egg and Cheese Breakfast Biscuit. We had gotten one earlier in the week from the Ward/Kapiolani JitB and the biscuit was very soft and fluffy.
I went to the same drive-thru, but got much different results. The burnt atrocity wasn't anywhere near soft nor fluffy.

It really seemed like they took a leftover sandwich and reheated the damn thing. Either that, or the night crew doesn't know a damn thing about making breakfast items. Ironic, as JitB heavily advertised their "breakfast all day" campaign. I guess the expanded menu might be a tad too much for the crew to handle.

wow, food, breakfast, eating
Today, I have toasted wheat bread, but no jams, jellies, or butters -- but I do have a lowfat Meadow Gold blueberry yogurt. I never would have thought that quickly dipping pieces of toast into yogurt would be so delicious. It still has the crispiness of the toast, yet is not dry, and the sweet-but-tangy yogurt sets this apart from many overly sweet jams.
The best thing is that it's simple and fun to eat.

Yay, posting again.
So what has been happening? Last week, two close friends, D & B got married

It's always great to see close friends getting married. Sha & I were both involved in this one: not only were we both in the party, but we were the "culprits" for initially setting them up

What's for lunch today...
