ants, work, daily dump
ANTS! I've got ants in my office. Don't know why they have started invading my office, as I haven't been leaving food around. Maybe it's from the heat ever since the AC was turned off for the building? There isn't even a central fan going, so perhaps it's due to my food smells lingering. In any case, I've been smashing them one by one. Can't help but to feel all-powerful and thinking DIE as my finger descends. I'll try a boric acid + sugar mixture tomorrow to see if it'll stop the invasion.

daily dump, work
Oh darn it, found out today that my watch had stopped. There wasn't an EMP last night at 10:07, so I'm hoping that is only a dead battery.
The air conditioning for my workplace will be out all week. It's like hell in my office. I've got a nice and tall pane of glass to let in the sun, but doesn't open to release the heat. Ugh, no circulation makes for inevitable snooze fest.

Office meeting...and what has come up so far.. Undercover boss, dancing with the stars, kate gosseling, jon gosselin, hoarders, folding clothes, facebook picture humiliation, sharing confidential pictures, using phone in restroom stalls, getting into trouble for texting, err, sexting. And we're finally starting 15 minutes after the meeting was supposed to start.
After meeting talk...
Drive in opening up, waialae drive in ghost, ghosts on campus, night marchers, practical jokes, glenn grant, ghost hunters. Grouchy taco bell lady, fake names, making fun of coworkers that are not at meeting, weight jokes.

Argh. I was recently given a "list" from another department. I was supposed to load some new records as well as update others. Wouldn't have been bad, except that this "list" was an Excel workbook with data spread around multiple worksheets.

I helped a co-worker with a problem at her computer and used the mouse for about 10 seconds. My hand came away smelling strongly of lotion (at least I hope it was lotion). It was so bad that I could smell the scent with my hand a foot away, and required a good soaping to remove. Rather gross, IMHO.

work, lunch, eating
Good news: not stuck in training anymore. After the two torturous days, my co-worker and I got out of the third after today's agenda was clarified. Forty minutes wasted, but better than the entire day. There's actual training next week for three(!) days...at least it won't be this quasi-implementation of watching the 'trainer' stumble around.
Bad news: could have brought home lunch today...there's a need to get rid of leftovers and here I am eating Subway. My order:
Ham on honey oat, toasted. No cheese, dijon mustard, all veggies except tomatoes (they didn't look fresh) and onions. Extra jalepeños. Black pepper only.

Stuck in training today. I sound bored because I'm getting tired of the "trainer" not knowing his stuff. Rather sad that he needs correcting on even basic unix commands...there's only so many ways to "suggest" alternatives without outright saying "you're wrong."
update: we were supposed to finish a sample implementation that we need today (we started on it Friday). The trainer is so slow.

work
Was a bit busy today with project meetings...going to be attending more all-day implementation/training sessions on an "enterprise scheduling solution." Apparently it'll be crash-course sessions as we're trying to get as much out of the consultant during the time he's here. The mystery product doesn't look too complex, but to make full use of it will be a lot of tedious groundwork. Guess it's always like this.
Anyway...guess what I had for lunch today?
drink: Pokka Carrot juice.
