Modernity

, , , ,

What is money and sex nowadays? Why does it seems to value more than health, happiness, joy and all the simple things of every day's life?

I don't understand this world, never will... It's just so different from the world I keep in my mind. Truly, I would not change the peculiar universe of my subjectivity, even knowing it is not posssible to share it with others and it does not fit reality as society defines, expect it. Cause what they have to offer is so mean, cruel and beyond my abilities to adapt myself with what I can not accept, I do not agree and I can not even get close to it's purpose. How come? What's the point?

How come everybody considers it right with so man injustices, violence, prejudice, all considering money and sex above all as the maximum values of society? What's wrong with me that I'm not able to get this? Of course I wouldn't discard money nor sex, but not like this, as if they were the most important to achieve in life.[/COLOR]

I think those are rational values. Money, of course and sex too, as opposed to making love.
In a world filled with made up laws and rules ( reason ) we are forced to think and act rationally, and along the way, I suppose some lose the ability or forget to live from their hearts.
Sex versus making love, money versus richness.

In a world filled with made up laws and rules we are forced to think and act irrationally.

Sex is sweet but we treat it as smut and can not talk about it rationally. Even the word adult means pornography these days.

We think of pastoral communities where the culture isn't based on gold as idyllic.

But they had their problems too. They just had more sense than burn their futures every so often. A huntin fishin shootin community would move on before they ruined the environment.

Our culture ruins the environment beyond recovery until we are forced to move on.

(Which is the point I was trying to make elsewhere yesterday before being asked to leave.

Some people are in a can't do society without realising how enmeshed they are.)
