The gate of the trade fair 2010
Have you ever been to DITF (Dhaka International Trade Fair)? No? Ok. Dhaka International Trade Fair has been occupying a big place in my heart. It may sound strange to you but it is true. I like DITF so...so much that I believe there is no other places in the world I love more. If any one ask me where I would like to go first? I would certainly answer DITF. And every year I await January because this is the month of DITF.
TRADE FAIR
Occasion: initiate export oriented goods among foreign buyers.
PLACE: Sher E Bangla Nagar. Next to Dhaka China friendship seminer hall
DATE: from 1st January to first week of February.
I dont know why I love this place so much. I visit it first time in 1983. At that time the name of the fair was Dhaka Export Fair. It was not actually a visit. We had duties in the fair ground. I had been in FULKURI, a childrens organization. At that time they took us there to guard the garden spots inside the fair that nobody treads inside the grassy spots.
President Ershad ceremoniously cut the tape of the fair. Then there was no Chondrima uddan. There was a lake and a sandy ground for the fair. The fair was beautifully constructed and beautifully set up. All the pavilions and the stalls looked so nice. In my duties, whenever I could spare a moment I would travel from stalls to stalls and pavilions to pavilions. I had a cap and a scarf on my back as a sign of Fulkury.
I used to travel from stalls to stalls and wondered with childlike amusement. I dont know why and how I can still feel that thrill in my heart. From that time on in the innermost cave of my heart lives the FAIR QUEEN. And I still feel this thrill when January comes. I always visit DITF in the late afternoon and got back early in the night.

the fountain inside the fair.
The beautiful decoration of the fair, colourful lights, and newest items make me spiritually happy. The fair is going to start on 01.01.2010. This year I will visit minimum 15 times. On behalf of the Export promotion bourou I welcome you all to Dhaka trade fair.
In this year (2010) Dhaka International Trade Fair has also the same attraction to me. I went there even before the prime minister ceremoniously cut the tape of the fair. The prime minister is just a visitor in the the fair. I believe the people who arrange the fair, those who plan the fair, or put a lay out of the fair they should cut the tape of the fair.
If you have already visited the fair what attracted you most?
1. The time of the fair.
2. The huge size of the fair.
3. The arrangement of the pavilions and stalls.
4. The colourfullness of the lights.
5.beautiful decoration of the pavilions
6. Huge collection of materials.
7. Night glory of the fair.
If you have never visited it you may think it is just a fair ground where buyers and sellers are gathered for buying goods. No, it is, though named trade, not a place for only buying and selling. You may suppose to get warm yourself up inside the fair while traveling from one stall to the other. You can roam, you can fun, you can eat, you can see, you can enjoy, and of course you can buy anything you like.
Hajir biriani is one of the foremost food courts of the fair. You can find 3 or 4 food courts with the same name.
Hajir biriani food court 1You can also find many other food shops and snacks inside the fair. They are all the same about the price but quality may differ. Though trade fair runs the whole winter you will see people still loiter near the ice cream perlour. The new generation has a good liking about the ice cream. Licking around the ice cubes looks trendy or the ice cream itself tastes good, whatever people buy ice creams.
ice cream perlourif you want to get the real feeling of the DITF never think about the price when you shop inside the fair. Because they must not be cheaper comparing the outside markets. None consider the price though. They consider the goods itself. You can find everything in the fair, even the cars. How many things can you find here? Well, from the kitchen to the garage you can find all items. Groceries, confectionaries, potteries, handicraft items, toys, kitchen decoration, fittings, living room decoration, ferniture, house decoration and security items, toiletries, fashion items, crockeries, flower items, lighting materials, food items, skin care items, electronics and electric items. Pavellions are generally bigger and the foremost attraction of the fair. These are for the leading companies of home and abroad. These pavellions are structured in the middle of the fair ground.
the pavilion of Sony looks like a box. Inside the pavilion the electronic goods are a good mixture of twentieth and twenty first century technologies. on one side you can find all models of sony handicams, HD and HDD high performence 45, 52 inch colour tvs and on the other side you will also be able to view 14 inch non-flat colour TV. Sony has also displayed a karaoke system at one corner. And a non professional singer sings to amuse viewers.
If you have gone to the fair once between 2006 to 2010 you must have face a dummylike man stood in front of a stall and moving his hand in robotic manner to show the people in the stall. He posed himself a little bit funny way but mostly done accurately like a machine. His name is Mahbub. And he is the attraction of the fair.
In the picture you can see me standing with Mr. Mahboob (on right). If you wanna talk to him you can easily phone him on +8801718034012.He is very amicable and easy with newcomers. You can also find him before the PERSONY USA stall every year in Dhaka International Trade Fair. PERSONY USA is an American cosmetic company. I like the stall too. He works for the cosmetic company.I did not say anything about some of the stalls and the pavilions that should be talked about. When you enter into the fair ground the big electronic display board will show you all the positions of the stalls, pavilions, restaurants, mosque, toilets, emergency exits, fire service locations, fountains and children parks. In the middle of the ground there is a tower of DITF.
. This is the pride of Dhaka International trade fair. On the top of the tower there is a globe that indicates the participation of the international export oriented companies and farms. The stalls are rounded the edge of the fair and the pavilions are set in the middle of the ground. If you plan to buy low cost goods you should travel the stalls and for costly items you may go near the inner circle of the fair. Every year the first stall begins with Iranian Jewelery and gems items. Always turn right to go to the stalls first. The crowd is there! Din Furniture showcased some beautiful items of furniture items that should be ranked rare and exclusive.
In front of the pavilion it is beautifully decorated with colourful lights, fountain and various animals and birds. you will see monkeys are caged, geese are chained and some doves are kept to attract the viewers. But
I believe they can't believably explain the arrangement of the animals and birds inside their pavilion. I believe it's just a mismanaged collection out of making a sheer attraction for the buyers. I can't support them to torment these helpless animals in those chilled cool nights by keeping them outside the pavilion. These geese are scared seeing huge gathering of people around them. Their natural quake has turned into a scary tone.
These monkeys are really troublesome when naughty visitors poke them from outside the cage. They don't know why they are being poked. They just can show a white set of teeth to scare away interested people.
When you start walking from the main entrance you must be confused about the size of the fair. You will think from which side you start visiting. Actually you can start from your right and just from the western side of the fair. You will be wondered that the design of the fair is same every year. So do not worry and start moving from the Iranian stall taking it 1st in count. You do not have to buy. Just see and enjoy. You can visit stalls to stalls and you will have a different feeling of visiting. Take time and go inside the stalls and pavilions and watch everything.

Walton group has many things to boast of themselves. I think they are the first team who are making bikes in Bangladesh. They are not even falling behind about the designs of their motor bikes. They compiled beautiful colours that are adorable to most young people. They made 52 inch HDD TV too that are comparable to sony High Definition TVs. I carefully inspected but could not detect any difference between these two TVs. They have refrigerator, burner, oven, washing machine as well.

Ali Baba was the name of a man of Arabia who became a rich man by stealing the treasures of the pirates. He uttered some SIM SIM spells and the door of the hill was opened but the Ali Baba door makers did not put any spells in opening the doors. They are the prominent door and kitchen cabinet makers in Bangladesh. Their doors looked very strong and rich. I even promised myself to use one of their doors and kitchen cabinets after making my new building. Thanks to Ali Baba for your nice gift to the people who are always careful and keep themselves vigil for thieves.

One drop perfumes are one of the good stalls who flow the foreign flags above their stalls. They looks good and the board looks gorgeous against the twilite sky. Perfumes and colours always attracts me much so the board attracted my attention and I went inside the stall to take a deep breath.
