7th Feb 2012

Tonight was quiet, for a loss of better words, there was a total of 4 members: Kev, Jon, Laurance and me...

But, we also had two newbies! Dave (which is good, because we haven't been filling our Dave quota recently) and Mallary!

Nether of them had juggled before tonight, Dave picked it up rather quickly and was juggling 3 balls for a few catches by the end of the night, and Mallary was only managing to do two, but was considerably better than she was when she first walked in...

Not much else to talk about really...

Kev and Jon did some Kendama...

Laurance recited some rap/poetry...

then we went to the pub... and everyone (except laurance) left early.

31st January 2012

Simon & I tried to remember how to pass three diabolos which was pretty awful. I blame the wooden sticks. & Simon. Tereza put down the balls & picked up the kendama! We're winning. Kev thought it was a good idea to poke a club over Simon's shoulder during gladiators even though he had already been knocked out. Simon's ninja reflexes kicked in & he batted the club out of the way, straight into Kev's face. Up the pub we struggled to remember the style of knitting that Beth was showing off, Dave thought it was Celeriac, I thought it was Ewok, Jo thought it was Pyrrhic knitting (knitting that is not worth the effort?)

24th January 2012

I had a severe attention deficit problem this evening, I don't think I stuck at anything for more than 5 minutes. Laurence has shaved his beard off. Tereza joined us for the first time & despite claiming to have never juggled before was regularly getting up to 6 catches at 3 balls with remarkably few drops. Hopefully in time she won't be quite so scared of us! My 7 balls was awful. Cat's leg was spectacularly bruised, proving a tempting target during gladiators. I had a scary squeal like a girl moment as I stepped on the rola bola which sent me flying but I miraculously kept juggling.

& as a point of historical interest all editions of the venerable TWJC newsletter are now online.

(OK, I concede that that task was one instance when broadband would have been useful)

18th January 2012

Coo a relatively busy night. Chris returned with a deflated unicycle. What has he been doing for the last six months? Playing noughts & crosses apparently. Thermo-nuclear War is to follow. We were also joined by Richard who has recently moved to the area, we introduced him to the game of gladiators which was quite an experience. I clobbered Laurence in the nose. Paul pulled off some fantastic strikes on Simon.

& for Karina & Richard The Prodigy Choir:

10th January 2012

a talkative if fairly unjuggly evening, there was lots of talk about things on the interwebs. Gladiators vigour increased after a New Year lull.

This video was cute and popular at the time

31st February 1974

Apparently there are still some people who haven't seen this. Kevin appears to be surpassing me at the kendama which is not on, he also fell off his unicycle spectacularly which made him the most active attendee of the evening. Karina skated a few laps of the hall. Laurence & I pretty much managed to get an up down go in before it was time for the pub. If anyone thinks putting vanilla in cider is a good idea they are wrong.

20th December 2011

'twas the last TWJC before Christmas &... it was similar to other TWJC meetings, except with less juggling. Kev supplied chocolate money, Paul supplied home made wine. What else to report? Dave K turned up, that's always news worthy, more so than our passing anyway.

Remember no juggling next week, we start again on Tuesday the 3rd of January 2012 when I will undoubtedly get the date wrong on the diary entry.

13th December 2011

FENTON!!

Simon was getting some nice runs of 5 clubs on the rola bola. Kev smacked himself on the head with falling golf clubs many times & left himself with a very fetching groove on his forehead. I landed a rotor blade with the most minimal fuss yet (earlier this week I fell over after my legs gave way after unsuccessfully attempting this trick for ~20minutes). The level of seriousness in this week's Gladiators was fairly minimal, highlights for me included taking Cat (mounted on roller blades) out with a minimal push from behind pompting a fantastic over reaction to maintain his balance & pulling off a successful FENTON!!! on Kevin.

oooh, pretty

6th December 2011

Another quite evening, Cat, Simon, Ben, Paul, Louisa (not Laura) and myself.
I am finally starting to get somewhere with balancing golf clubs on my head without serious injury.faint

Ben fell off snake-board a lot, Cat fell off my unicycle, Simon is still tiered after returning from Japan over a week ago.
Gladiators was played by 4 of us in the tower, this was a circle of tape marked out on the floor for panto rehearsals about 8 feet across, very silly and didn't last long.

Myself and Simon went to pub where Simon showed me his latest book in Japanese, Winnie the Pooh.

29th November 2011

Simon returned from the Land of the Rising Bun. Ben fell off the snakeboard in lots of graceful ways. Kev brought along the new BKA tricklist which is simply an ever increasing list of tricks that we can't do.

Talk returned to the regular topic of how awesome Samuel L. Jackson is.
