I created a
Google Author Rank Checker today which tells you your Author Rank and also allows you to find the Author Rank of anyone who has a Google+ Profile.
You simply add your Google+ ID number in to the Google Author Rank Checker to display your Google Author Rank score.
I will also be providing Author Rank badges so people can display their Author Rank on their own blogs or websites.

I was talking about Google Authorship and the importance of having a good Google Profile prior to the launch of Google+ back in June of 2011.
I even registered and set up a few websites for
Google Profiles Optimisation and
Improving Your Google Profile in the same week Google+ was launched.
Neither have a lot of content on them at the moment, but as the importance of a good Google Profile, good Google Authorship and Google Author Rank is becoming more and more main stream now may be the time for me to get both sites updated and move all the Profiles and authorship content I have on v1seo accross to these 2 sites.

Well I didn't blog at My.Opera as much as I hoped in 2012 so let's see what 2013 brings.
It is going to be a very different year in 2013 as I take a break from business and the Internet and concentrate on modernising the new house ready for the big move.
We hope to complete in early January, get the planning permission by March and it's then full steam ahead.
The first job will be stripping out the existing wiring and plumbing, knocking down the internal walls and replacing the enclosed staircase with a nice open plan staircase. We will then put up new internal walls, re-wire and 1st fix the plumbing before relaying floors and plastering.
All exciting times and will be a nice break from the solitary Internet world I have lived in for the past 5 years.

Well summer is well and truly over now.
We have halloween and bonfire night to look forward to and then the 7 slow weeks to Christmas.
There were so many things I was going to do this year but just never got around to.
As someone who tends to hibernate in the winter, this means it now won't be until April 2013 before anything gets done, just how depressing is that

I must have seen it half a dozen times now but still sit and watch it every time it comes on the TV
No idea why, but it's one of those films I can watch over and over again and re ite lines off by heart.

Google+ Local, Google+ Pages, Google, Marketing

I have had a Google+ Profile for about 12 months and a Google+ Page since November.
Google+ ProfileGoogle+ PageAll was going well with my Google+ Page it has 500+ Google +1's and is in 400+ people circles, I have spent a lot of time on it, have it linked to my site and are using several Google+ buttons and badges.
So what have Google gone and done?
They have created another system called Google+ Local which automatically creates a page for a business by using its Google Places/Maps information.
I now have one heavily used Google+ Page which I have been working on since November and one awful Google+ Local Page using data from Places and to cap it all the awful Google+ Local Page seems to get a precedence over the nice Google+ Page.
Google say they will be merging pages together soon, but it was nearly 3 weeks ago when they said that and how are they going to merge pages together when they are in different Google Accounts?
Google+ for business is turning in to a fiasco, if I as someone in the industry and who has been using Google+ from day one is getting in a mess how on earth do they expect your average small business owner to cope?

I'm not much of a Royalist and not the most social of people, but I must say how good, not just the Cherington and Stourton Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations were, but the whole weekends celebrations.
In the villages of Cherington and Stourton we had a Church service in the morning, a sit down lunch and entertainment for 300 in a marquee, followed by the lighting of the Diamond Jubilee beacon on Cherington Hill in the evening.
The whole day could not have gone better and even the weather held off.

April 24th 1999 was a Saturday
At about 07:00 on Saturday 24th April 1999 my wife and I started loading our car with some essentials and headed of to Warwick Hospital.
7 hours 31 minutes later at 14:31 on Saturday 24th April 199 The best thing that has happened to me happened.
13 years later that best thing that ever happened to me becomes a teenager, the best teenager in the world, the sweetest, most caring, considerate, loving daughter a man could ever want.
Where has that 13 years gone though?
