US tour arrives in SoCal

The second week of the University tour in California is well under way. This week we are in Southern California or SoCal as the locals say. I arrived in LA after the long drive from San Francisco on Sunday. LA is very cool and is like Disneyland for adults. There is so much to do and see, and a lot of the sights are very familiar to me as they are present in a lot of Hollywood movies and TV shows.
As I am writing this blog the US Presidential race is under way and the polls have almost all closed. We should know who is the new “leader of the free world” in a few hours. It's a pretty exciting time to be in the US as a Canadian. Enough with the politics and on with the tour!
Yesterday we held a seminar the University of California, Irvine. As we drove to Irvine, Henny and I had the same observation of the city and campus: the town is perfectly groomed. The trees look like they were planted the day before we arrived, the lawns are perfectly mowed and all the buildings look brand new. The seminar was very interesting, as Henny discussed Web accessibility which I personally did not know too much about.
Stay tuned...
