Labskaus - German Uni Tour - Hamburg 10 November 2009

, , , , , ,

After a very long train journey last night (as nice as the ICE trains are, spending almost 6 hours in one gets a bit boring, believe me) we finally had a chance for a bit of a lie-in this morning.

After a few hours exploring the city and finding probably the only Starbucks in Hamburg that didn't have wifi, I made my way over to the University of Hamburg, where evidence of recent student protests relating to fees was still quite prominent...

Compared to yesterday, today's session was well attended, and at the end I was literally surrounded by students following up my presentation with very interesting and probing questions...I hope I managed to give them all satisfactory answers. And no sooner was I finished that we were already on another train, this time for Muenster - where there'll be double trouble with two uni talks scheduled almost back-to-back.

it's a pity that the lecturing hall is quite empty. it makes me wonder whether opera really reaches anyone or are these seminars just opera-fans' meetings.

I think it's not just an "Opera fan meeting". I personally am a Firefox user who tries Opera here and there.
Plus, it was not a Opera Promotion Show or something. The focus was definitely Web Standards.
