First talks in Bandung

, , ,

On the 8th November 2010, we kicked of our uni tour in Indonesia from Bandung city. It's located in west Java. It was the third seminar we had in Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) since 2008. It was nice to be back to have a talk in Comlabs, a department who gives IT services in ITB, which always have active and very technical attendences. Most of attendences in this seminar was not only from ITB, but it was mixed of high schools, other campuses students and lecturers in Bandung.

We usually organized it on Saturday for ITB on the Free IT Saturday Lesson (fsl) event that held regularly every month. But this time, we had it on Monday and held 2 sessions seminar instead, so people could choose the schedule suits to their free time from classes and work.

We had around 150 attendences (around 80 & 70 people on each sessions). We got many technical questions, like how is video element and video codec in the future, the accelerate feature on IE9 compare to Opera, improvement of HTML5's fragility in supporting hadwares (webcam, microphone, etc), the privacy of Opera's compression technology, HTML5 & CSS3 in supporting dissable people, etc.

In the evening, we had a meet-up with some students from ITB, they were from computer science, chemistry and geology faculty. There were 8 people meeting with Zibin and Putri. And one of Opera fan, who are active helping other Opera users on the Opera Fans Club thread on kaskus - the largest forum in Indonesia, also reported the seminar and meet-up going on his blog. Nice report up
