Labskaus - German Uni Tour - Hamburg 10 November 2009

After a very long train journey last night (as nice as the ICE trains are, spending almost 6 hours in one gets a bit boring, believe me) we finally had a chance for a bit of a lie-in this morning.

Ich bin ein Berliner (I'm a donut) - German Uni Tour - Berlin 3-4 November 2009

We're two days into the German University Tour, which sees us zig-zagging across Deutschland to cover 9 universities in 8 different cities over the course of two weeks. As my colleague Alexandra and I are now packing up for our second destination, it seems an appropriate time to say goodbye to Berlin and to give a quick recap of the tour so far.

Universitytour: Opera Software goes to Germany

, , , ...

After a long round of preparation we are ready to go to Germany. This would be the second unitour to Germany. We are going to visit 8 cities, 9 universities, attend 2 events and organize two community meet-ups. The speaker this time will be Patrick Lauke. Patrick works as Web Evangelist in the Developer Relations team. In a previous life, he was Web Editor for the University of Salford, where he headed a small central web team. In 2003 he implemented one of the first web standards based XHTML/CSS driven UK university sites.
If you are around these cities and would like to learn more about webstandards, mobile internet, cross device web technologies and get a nice Opera T-Shirt or would like just join us for a free beer at the community meet-up we would be very pleased
Here is our program:

Russian Uni Tour - Spring 2009

Well, it's finished. Just two words can describe this tour: fast and effective. For four days we (Ilya Shpan'kov and Alexei Khlebnikov) lived in trains and tried to use the internet by laptop+mobile - but more importantly, we had a lot of interesting meetings with university officials, students, web-designers and more. Well, it was four fantastic days - from sea (Caspian Sea) to sea (Black Sea), across the two biggest and most well-known Russian Rivers - Volga and Don. All the cities we visited - Astrakhan, Volgograd, Rostov on Don and Krasnodar - are located in the south of Russia, and it's the first time Opera was there.

Below - more detailed about every city.

I think Chaals has already written quite a few things about Rio and our first moments in Sao Paulo. Still I don't think he has covered all the facts from the tours which I think you'd be interested in hearing about. Hopefully you be curious enough to click on “Read more” to understand what I'm talking about...
