US Tour wrap up!

The final leg of the University tour of California consisted of the Opera crew visiting UCLA, USC and UC, San Diego. The weather was absolutely beautiful and there was a nice energy to L.A. after Obama won the US Presidency. After his speech I stepped out of the hotel for a quick bite to eat and people were cheering and honking their car horns in celebration. It was a really cool thing to see.
UCLA was a quick 20 minute drive from our hotel. On the way to the seminar we passed the famous Beverly Hills and Rodeo Dr. The seminar was excellent with a lot of interesting questions from the students about accessibility. After the seminar the Opera guys headed to a local pub to mingle with the UCLA organizer, Nima.
Before heading to the next seminar at USC the following day, Henny, Thomas and I drove up the Hollywood Hills to get a closer look at the famous Hollywood sign. Driving up the narrow roads to get to the sign a challenge in the van I was driving. After a few snapshots we headed back to the hotel to grab our laptops and headed to USC. Unfortunately I missed most of the seminar due to the fact that I had to go get the food for the seminar with a few of the organizers. After the talk, many of the attendees were keen to get more information about internships at Opera. I returned to the van with a stack full of resumes.
The next day, Henny and I woke up and left our hotel at 7am 
to make the 2 hour drive to San Diego. The last stop in the tour was UC, San Diego in which there were many developers in attendance. I even saw someone downloading Opera and checking out our developer tool, Dragonfly. 
After the seminar we had really nice conversations with Opera users and non-Opera users that are now aware and willing to try Opera out.
The Opera Crew then headed to our San Diego office to unwind.
This was a great tour and experience. I would like to give a big thanks to IceArdor who is one of our awesome Opera Campus Crew members who helped organize the seminar at CalPoly. Here are his thoughts about the tour.
