Or you could just pay attention to the "length" measurement when you buy pants....

Trip Clip
It's a device that wraps around your shoe and/or leg to well... ah hell- it's pretty self explanatory:
(w/trip clip and without)
...I'm just not sure that anyone who is concerned about preserving their pants legs would be wearing them that way in the first place. To each his own I suppose.

<jr> Golly, pops! None of my friends wear Trip Clips.
<dad> I didn't just spend $180 on relaxed-fit, designer Levi, stone pummeled, low rider, thigh bleached, extended crotch j34ns...for you to go and get them all frayed on the bottom.
<jr> Aw shucks!

(That's why I want it to remember all text typed in forms)
Once again..
When I bought my jeans (any of them), they had a dedicated spot to rip. The factory made a little hole, to start ripping at the right position! The aesthetic ideal is a 2cm rip, with two loose ends lurching around, and getting longer with time. When they start to feel uncomfy under my shoes, I rip it off - which makes for a great conversation always.
These jeans, designed with purpose, help me boring character present as a rebel, cowboy or whatever.
As long as it doesn't rip in other spots, I am happy with it
But then again, it's some time ago that I bought my last jeans - maybe time has changed?
