Announcements and ideas for Opera User Groups

First Opera User Group meetup in Seattle -- Meet some Opera employees

A few Opera developers, including "Mitchman", Anne van Kesteren (very active with standards), David Storey (Chief Web Opener at Opera), and the famous "Olli" will be visiting the Seattle area next week. I thought it would be nice if we can start a Seattle Opera User Group and have them attend the first meet up.

Thanks to Anne Lee, a Seattle-local, this became possible. The first meeting will take place next Friday night (August 18, 2006) between 6PM and 8PM at the Seattle Center (near the Seattle Space Needle) by the food court area. Be on the lookout for Opera t-shirts or other Opera posters. (Directions here)

Bring your computer if you’d like; there will be free Wi-Fi internet service at the food court.

We’re still looking for a local group leader to organize future group meetings in Seattle. If you’re interested either contact Anne or myself (daniel@operawatch.com).
