Engadgetに「Sources: Google-branded Chrome OS netbook to launch on December 7th」とあり、

The headline pretty much reveals the brunt of it, but indeed, it looks like next week Google is going to start talking about how its Chrome operating system is coming along. Multiple sources have told us that Google will be holding some sort of event on Tuesday, December 7th -- we're not sure if it'll be a live event, a webcast, or something else entirely -- and that the shindig will see the launch of that Google-branded Chrome OS netbook we've been hearing about. Again, we've heard that the Atom-powered laptop isn't going to be a mass market device -- there will only be around 65,000 units available to Google's closest "friends and family" -- and that the Cloud-based OS is still very much in a beta, non-consumer-friendly state. It's a bit odd that we still haven't received an invite to this planned event since it's purportedly days away, not to mention it conflicts with the All Things D: Dive Into Mobile Event, but at the time of publishing this post we had yet to hear back from Google's PR team with an official comment.

来週火曜日に登場するのではと噂されているそうです。

ChromeOSをググってみると、一番新しいChromeOSバージョンは0.9.570は11月5日付けとなっています。

折角ですから、isoをVirtualBoxででも試してみようと...
考えてみると、死にかけたネットブック市場へのGoogleの挑戦、どうなるでしょうか。

追　VBoxにインストールできました！　動きもスムーズです。ただChromeOSに制限があり、スクリーンサイズ変更などで少々悩まされました。でもどうにか克服できました。 　Ubuntu10.10と比較してみると、説得力に欠けますね。もし、ChromeOSがこの0.9.570程度であると想定すると、ChromeOSを敢えて使う必要性を見い出すことができないように思えるのはAOだけでしょうか。 　Googleはどのような味付けを施すのか、今後が楽しみになりま〜す。

SGSの標準ソフトにGoogle Mapsは付いてきますが、Google EarthはどうかとAppBrainでインストールを指定しても、またもやDLが不可となってしまいました。これも以前ブログしたように地域限定なのでしょう。仕方なく.apkを入れました。これがなかなかコンパス連動となりいい感じです。Mapsとは違った味のある使い方ができます。これまたお薦めで〜す。考えてみると、以前ブログしたように、SGSに標準で入ってくるGoogle系のアプリやWigetsは自動的にはアップデートされないのでマニュアルでアップしましょう。一度アップデートさせると、AppBrainのSyncで新たなアップデートが登場した場合には表示されるようになります。ただアップデートがあると分かってもまたマニュアルないとダメとなるパターンが多いと思います。きっと、地域限定か、Nexus Oneでないからか、Marketのサーバーの不具合か、不明ですが、何かがうまく連動していないようです。
AOの田舎町ではStreet Viewがまだ不備なためか、Google Mapsではコンパス制御させてMapsを楽しめないのですが、Google Earthではコンパスが生きていて、これは気持ちいいです。おまけに３D感覚で遠くを眺めた様子がビックリするくらい鮮明に見えます。AndroidのパワーとGalaxy S、かなりいいコンビかもと...　 　SGS-AOモデル、かなり仕上がってきました。世界中の皆さんにもお見せしたいなぁと...

GoogleはChromeOSを相当な勢いで仕上げているそうです。であれば同じLinuxベースのChromiumをAspireOneのメインブラウザーとしました。SyncさせるとChromeのBookmarkやスキンが一発で使えるようになり、使い勝手も同じですから... 現時点ではExtensionsはシンクしませんが、間もなくだそうです。動きも更に生き生きとなったように感じてしまいま〜す。
