snow sense workin'

This would've been a good day to stay home. It's below freezing and another storm is blowing through town, adding to the 10 cm of snow already on the ground. But at 7:30 am I hopped on one of these buses to go to my last scheduled shift as a regular employee. Yes, it's in the middle of my vacation, but when there's only 4 pharmacists in a dept these fill-in shifts are unavoidable. The road is as bad as it looks.

Here's a shot of where I've put 7.5 years of blood, sweat, and tears. I just noticed this naturally growing Christmas tree at the entrance. The emergency dept was empty today. The snow is keeping people inside. A truck was plowing the front driveway when I arrived at 7:40 am but the rest of the world seems to have been neglected.

And here's the snowy sidewalk where I ventured out at lunchtime. Businesses were open but not all of the sidewalks were equally cleared. And back to the busses, I waited for 40 minutes for one to take me home again. I thought of the warnings on the radio for people to dress properly for long waits outside, something we're not used to in this town. Being out in the cold, I mean.

btw, Looks like you're having some weirdness with your photo uploads as well. Partial shots but really zoomed in. I had to load my photos into an album and then copy them to my blog for them to work properly.
