India's football coach Bob Houghton's men accomplished the remarkable feat through a 43rd-minute strike against tournament favourites Syria, which should prove to be a new beginning for Indian football. The 151^st ranked Indian team beat the 113^th rank Syrian team 1-0. The last international victory for the Indian football team was the LG Cup in 2002
