HAN-01 Pagodas & Temples (Half day)

Starting from the hotel, we drive to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s First University, tour its remarkable architectures and learn about the Confucius religion. Continuing on, we visit the Quan Thanh Temple, well known for its bronze statue of Tran Vu, see the oldest Royal Pagoda of Tran Quoc before travelling to the beautiful Golden Lotus Pagoda and the sublime Tay Ho Shrine. Finally, we have a look at the Temple of the Jade Mound, dedicated to the national hero Tran Hung Dao.

HAN-02 Ho Chi Minh & Vietnam War (Half day)
We leave for the impressive Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, visiting his wooden cottage and tour the Ho Chi Minh Museum's displays with messages of Peace, Happiness and Freedom. We then wander the historical Ba Dinh Square, where President Ho Chi Minh stated his declaration of independence on September 2, 1945. Moving to the Army Museum, we see many exhibits from ancient wars against Chinese invaders to the final victory on April 30, 1975. We also look at one of the symbols of Hanoi, the Flag Tower built in 1812 before pausing at the former prison, which was referred to as the Hanoi Hilton by the US pilots during the war.

HAN-03 Museums of Hanoi (Half day)
One of Hanoi’s highlights that we should not miss while touring the city are museums. We have a wide choice to discover from the recently opened Ethnology Museum, which presents an insight into the most colorful minority groups, to the Fine Arts museum with Vietnam’s many traditional articles. And from the History Museum with rich exhibits covering every era of the country’s fascinating history to the Air Force Museum, a home to the old Soviet aircraft collection.

HAN-04 Hanoi’s Old Quarter (Half day)
The Old Quarter of Hanoi is referred to as the city of ancient 36 streets and districts. These streets represented professional guilds of the ancient Vietnam Capital that we can even find nowadays. Travelling by a cyclo from the hotel, we pass many French influences including Hanoi Opera House, the State Bank and the former Governor's palace. Afterwards, we journey around beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake, tour the Hanoi Cathedral built in late 19th century. Finally, we wander the lively old streets filled with traditional crafts, having some great bargain before we return to the hotel.

HAN-05 Cha Ca La Vong & Water Puppet Show (Full evening)
One of the reasons for travelling to Vietnam is sure to be the food. Cha Ca, which means grilled fish, was found by the ancestor of the today’s restaurant owner to treat De Tham, the national hero, who led the peasant’s uprising against the French Colonists from 1893 to 1913. Today, this food becomes very famous in Hanoi and it is served in the typical house of the Old Quarter where we have a memorable experience of Hanoi Capital. After tasting this delicious cuisine, we walk down to the center and enjoy water puppet show, a unique Vietnamese Art Form dating back from the 11th century.

HAN-06 Traditional crafts & Buddhist Center (Full day)
In the morning we venture to Bat Trang village, famous for its production of ceramics and become acquainted with the century old methods of this art. Continuing on, we drive to the beautiful But Thap Pagoda, constructed during the 17th century Trinh Dynasty and see the famous pagoda’s collection of over fifty Buddhist statues. Finally, we arrive Dong Ky village, well known for the communal production of woodcarving made by regional artists, whose profession has been handed down from generation to generation.

HAN-07 Silk village & 17th century Buddhist sculpture (Full day)
Commencing our day trip by pausing at the Silk village of Van Phuc, we see one of Vietnamese traditional profession that local people are still working on. Driving to Hoai Duc, we see the Tram Gian Pagoda, famous for the brick walls, which are decorated with carved mythical animal figures.Travelling about 30Km southwest further, we arrive Tay Phuong Pagoda, constructed first during the 8th century with over 70 hand-carving statues. On our return, we tour the Thay Pagoda built in the 12th century and explore the beautiful limestone cave of Cac Co.

HAN-08 Hoa Lu (Full day)
The picturesque site of Hoa Lu was one the ancient capital of Vietnam during the Dinh, Le (10th century) and Ly (11th century) dynasties. Upon arriving, we explore two temples, one dedicated to King Dinh Tien Hoang and the other to his successor Le Dai Hanh. It is also a chance to visit the scenic Bich Dong Pagoda from 1428 as we have a leisurely boat ride to the three magnificent grottoes of Tam Coc, a Ha Long on Land called by many travellers.

HAN-09 Perfume Pagoda (Full day)
The Perfume Mountain located in a distance of about 70Km southwest of Hanoi, is home to one of the country’s most beautiful landscapes. Pagodas, shrines, sanctuaries and grottoes nestle in the limestone relief of Huong Son surrounded by tropical forest harmonize perfectly with nature. From this region, we board a simple boat and travel the Yen Vi River through an idyllic rural setting of rocks and tranquil fields until reaching Thien Tru Pagoda. From here, a steep mountain path leads us to a legendary World of pagodas and vistas.

HAN-10 Hoa Binh & Muong hill tribe village (Full day)
For those interested in indigenous culture, a visit to the hill tribes is mandatory. Lying along highway number 6, Hoa Binh and the surroundings area is the cradle of the vibrant ethnic minority culture that awaits our exploration. This province is home to the Thai and Muong minorities who offer us the opportunity to walk through their villages and learn a little about their traditional way of life as well as enjoy their hospitality with spicy rice wine

HAN-11 Mai Chau & Thai hill tribe village (2 days/1night)
Departing Hanoi, we cross a region of spectacular scenery before reaching Mai Chau. The town is situated in valley of green rice paddies and consists of rows of houses on stilts, reflecting the typical way of hill tribe living. We spend a day exploring local villages and experiencing the wonderful hospitality of the Thai people. Most interesting of all is the overnight stay in a villager’s house, a truly remarkable and unforgettable event.

HAN-12 Ha Long Bay by Huong Hai Junk (2 days / 1 night)
Board our traditional Huong Hai Junk in the afternoon and cruise through the middle of Halong Bay while enjoying a seafood lunch served on board. Visit one of the most impressive grottoes and have a swim at a deserted beach. After dinner, stop off in a quite bay for some night fishing before having a peaceful sleep in a comfortable cabin. The Huong Hai resumes its cruise the next day while breakfast is being served. If weather conditions permit, go in a small boat through flooded caves leading to the heart of one island. Enjoy your last meal while the junk cruises slowly back to the pier.

HAN-13 Halong Bay (Day trip)
Enjoy the 170km journey through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta to Ha Long. A cruise in a private junk on the emerald green waters among the 3,000 spectacular limestone islands begins with fresh seafood lunch on board. Return to Hanoi by road in the late afternoon with a stop at Dong Trieu ceramic village, and see how villagers make their beautiful wares in traditional ways.

HAN-14 Ha Long Bay (2 days/1night)
Travelling to Ha Long Bay, we pass through Northern countryside busy with farmers working their fields who are still using hundred year old method of cultivation. Upon arrival, we board our boat for a cruise on this stunning Bay, one of the World’s Wonders, and without doubt, the most beautiful scenery in Vietnam. The next day we return to Hanoi, stopping at Dong Trieu village for its ceramic wares where we can observe the locals working at this traditional art and admire or purchase the many beautiful items.

HAN-15 Hai Phong & Ha Long Bay (3 days/2nights)
Hai Phong city, was built in 1888,still holds strong French influences that could be seen in its many well-kept architectures. Beside the busy port, we can visit the 300-year-old Du Hang Pagoda and the famous Hang Kenh carpet factory. Driving on to Ha Long, which has recently been designated as a World Heritage site by UNESCO, we take a special boat to cruise on the emerald waters, home to thousands of islands and delve into this scenic treasure before returning to Hanoi.

HAN-16 Ha Long Bay, Hai Phong & Hoa Lu (4 days/3 nights)
We travel Ha Long, boarding our boat for a cruise on this stunning Bay, considered as the most beautiful scenery in Vietnam. Continuing to Hai Phong, we visit the busy town with colonial history, touring the famous Du Hang Pagoda as we have a look at the Hang Kenh carpet factory. Finally, we drive Southeast to Ninh Binh, take a rowboat through this famous region of Limestone Mountains and visit the temples of King Dinh Tien Hoang and King Le Dai Hanh, which are remarkable vestiges of this ancient capital of Vietnam.

HAN-17 Sa Pa & Bac Ha (4 days/ 3 nights)
We board the Carriage in the Friday evening for our journey to Lao Cai and transfer further to Sa Pa Hill Station. This area is home to the Hmong and Red Dzao, who are among Vietnam’s most colorful minority groups. From here we walk through the Ham Rong Mountains, wander in the market bustling with hill tribe traders and witness the ancient tradition of the Red Dzao people - Their “Love Fair��?. In the Sunday morning we continue to Bac Ha Town, visiting the famed Sunday market before getting on the same carriage for our overnight return to Hanoi.

HAN-18 Cuc Phuong National Park (2 days/1 night)
Located about 125Km South of Hanoi, the Cuc Phuong National Park is one of the few remaining tropical forest reserves in the World. Entering this park, we find the remarkable fauna including flying lizards and yellow monkeys. We also discover one grotto that houses three tombs of the old-aged citizens. In addition, Cuc Phuong offers us a chance to see the 1000-year-old tree, which is probably hard to find in other part of the World. After an overnight experience in a wooden house on stilts, we drive back to Hanoi.

HAN-19 Cat Ba National Park & Ha Long Bay (3 days/2 nights)
We journey to Hai Phong and board the Hydrofoil for Cat Ba Island, one of Vietnam’s few National Parks rich in fauna and tropical forests. We explore the nature trails, enjoy the island’s many unspoiled beaches and sample the fresh seafood in a local restaurant. The next day we cruise amongst the spectacular limestone islands, admiring the dramatic landscape and visit one of the breathtaking caves steeped in legend before arriving in Bai Chay for our overnight stay. On our return to Ha Noi, we stop at ceramic village of Dong Trieu, observing the locals at work in this age-old traditional art.

HAN-20 Ba Be National Reservation (3 days/2 nights)
From Hanoi we travel North through Tuyen Quang and Bac Can provinces. Along the way we can enjoy the stunning scenery of the semi mountainous region with local villages, palm trees and tee covered hills. Ba Be National Park offers us an opportunity for a spot of sailing on its scenic and serene lake. We are taken too, deeper to the amazing area of forests that harbor many birds, animals and also dominated by the Nung and Dzao minority groups.
