Automation, idea
The current Automation Framework is very good, but after few short-talks with potential client, they suggest me to enhance the current Framework to work as Web-based scenario editor. I'm thinking to implement it as ActiveX to be downloaded through IE.
BTW, i want to implement it with FireFox Add-on, Greasemonkey too
Another idea after reading newspapaer, i suddently have idea to extend it in Artificial Intelligence field. The current Framework has its scenario editor, that requires end-user to edit very detail of each scenario, ex: want to click 'OK' button, you need to specify parent window has that 'OK' button. The idea is user can define 'perspective' that scenario editor can understand which 'OK' button you would like to 'press' without specify 'parent window'. it will make people easy to edit scenario
Our current Testing Project focus on Automation, what we miss right now is we don't have any detail report on 'bug-trends', 'diversity-bugs', 'bug-area' So Test Manager, he cannot identify, the areas in the software need to test, focus on, to derease effort, and increase performance, and satisfy client
We need to have metric to measure effectiveness of Testing Effort, and smart in Testing, WHAT I CALL BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE. Actually, after 3 years working in this project, we don't have any data like this
It is very useful if the current Automation Framework can provide 'Report Facility' like this, and can be integrated into Full Cycle testing, that means, the current Framework can identify the testing project risk, area the need to be test, then run it automatically base on the Report data (output metric)
The Cycle that i would like to propose is something like:
(TEST) REPORT -> ANALYZE -> PREDICT -> (TEST) PLAN -> ASSESS -> RESPOND (AUTOMATION TEST) -> (TEST) REPORT
Or
(TEST) REPORT -> ANALYZE -> PREDICT -> ACTION
