Recently I had an unusual business trip to my customers in Europe. This time I decided to go by trains and ferries. Just to see everything around, to touch and even to smell. There were two points I had to visit - Plymouth and Lisbon. On the way back I stopped in Paris for one day. Never been before, so I decided to stop for I could just say "I've been to Paris, sirs!".

I've made a lot of friends as well as photos during the trip. Now I started to put some of them into my photo album and started from - well - of course Paris! You can find detailed trip route here as well.

It's already 17 years since we are back to normal life! And since we've had escaped from Soviet prison. Thanks God for that.

Most of the people over the world cannot imagine what does it mean for us. The freedom of thought, the freedom of speach, the freedom of travel. For most of them these are quite usual and normal things.

I'm trying to forget all those nightmares of past times, but still, that was a part of my life... Like a day and a night. Like to see the real object and to see only a shadow of it. What you could tell about the sun when you are in prison and you can only see the shadows caused by the sun?.. This analogy might help you to understand our feelings.

But still in many aspects of life we are guessing about many things by the shadows. This is especially true for programming. Each person has his sight onto programming, but there is no such an object at all! There is only our imagination of it.

So, I'm still trying to figure out something about programming, like it was some years ago about the freedom. Don't you think these things are quite similar?
