Yahoo room chat on iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch



1. About application
This is an iPhone application, which allows you to enter Yahoo chat rooms yes. Now supported old (like iPhone 3G) and new devices.

2.How to install
There are two ways you can install the application:
(1)Download .ipa file from this site (link below), and install using one of followings: i-FunBox, install0us, iFile, sync with iTunes etc... Note: Please have "AppSync" installed on Cydia
(2)Install using Cydia repo: Open Cydia and add the following source: http ://files.myopera.com/vnsoft/cydia, and then install from that repo

3. Features
Version 3.6.5
+ Fix crash when you exit from PM window with keyboard is showing

4. Limitations
- Does not support voice chat & Webcam

5. Tips & Tricks
In order to keep your ID connected, I prefer the followings:
- Disable "Auto lock" in Settings, since once your device is in locked sate, all network connections will be terminated (just for iOS 3.x and below).
- If you are running iPhone 3G with iOS >= 4.0, please enable multitasking feature (can find in Cydia tweaks)

***IMPORTANT***
The file actually has extention ".ipa" however your Webbrowser might download it with ".zip" extension. In this case just change the ".zip" to ".ipa". If you intend to use installous or appstorevn to install the application, no need to change the extension, since they support both .zip and .ipa

There is a problem with a feature in Y!Room on iOS 5+: The Local Notification feature, that is when the application is minimized (running in background) you will not be alerted when there is a PM comming! This problem only occurs with Y!Room installation from .deb file or Cydia. This problem does not occurs if you install Y!Room by using .ipa file downloaded from this blog. As I said, only people who install Y!Room from .deb or Cydia and running iOS 5+ will have this problem, to avoid it, use .ipa file. If you don't need this feature, just ignore it. Currently only this feature is broken on iOS 5+ and .deb (Cydia) installation.
This is because application installed from .deb file will not be listed in "Notification Center" under iOS 5+

If you try to login a same ID for multiple times (with invalid password), it will be locked temporary by Yahoo and then u could not able to login anymore within 12 hours. So, please try another ID and see, you can try this: ID: yroomtest, pass: 123456

Please install this version (you can use i-FunBox on Windows, please remove current installed version): http://files.myopera.com/vnsoft/YRoom/Archive/Y!Room_Log.ipa

Do the login as normal, the same problem should appear (invalid ID and password), then Y!Room will show a pop up to ask you to send a log to me, just send it to me.
Repeat the same procedure several times to send multiple logs to me (3 or 4 are OK), so i can see what is the problem

Thanks for the logs, found the reason, either yahoo dis not send u the login token, or there is something missing in the source code/device's cache so Y!Room could not get the login token, im checking

The log indicates invalid ID or password, please try to log in to Yahoo mail, to see if it works ?

Ya it works fine in yahoo mail and also works fine in yahoo messenger iPhone app. Id n password are correct n working properly. What should I do now..

Try to login with YMSG 102 and let me know (tap "Settings..." button, and select YMSG 102)
By the way, what's your phone language ?

- Fixed: ID or Password has special characters could not log in
- Room text filter improved
- Auto check for new release
- Ask to confirm when you delete a contact from contact list

It's not room voice codec, what you are seeing is codec for VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol, used for voice calling), it's different from room voice smile That is Yahoo uses various types of codec for various types of voice

You can use i-FunBox (run on Windows) to install --> run i-FunBox --> click on "Install App [App FastIn]" smile

sowa please help.im unable to log in to this YM chatroom. I did almost all possible things i can do to make it work like uninstalling and re-installing the app again but no luck. I even tried logging in on different acccnt but still the same.... PLEASE HELP... THANX A LOT IN ADVANCE....
