If you stand on the east cost, you look to the east side, where the sun is going up.
How you can took such photos with sunset in the evening?

It is because of the shape of this land arm. Look at the picture here Cape Cod you will understand.

N.B. the photo has to be turn 180 degree clockwise to have a normal view.
