Welcome! and be part of my new life!

The creation of this Blog coincides with the decision I took on the first of April 2006.
On this date, I decided to leave my secure, linear and asphyxiating life and began an exciting, hazardous, and tormenting new one...

My recent travel dreams made me think about celebrity. Why a river is more famous than another? Why every one knows the Nile, the Ganges or the Amazon? What do they have more than I do?

Here, it's the St. Lawrence River that is famous. But why? Because an European named Jacques Cartier sailed on it during the 16 century? Or because it leads to the Great Lakes. I also lead to a lake that is great and probably some famous people have wet their feet in my waters. I know, one day I will get the fame I deserve...

Oh my! What a dream I had. High mountains, the sea, strange creatures and sand everywhere. Fortunately it was just a dream and I'm still here buried under the snow in minus zero temperatures. Phew! I know I wished to travel but it was just a crazy wish.

I'm not the type of river who could live a life full of adventures even if it was kind of pleasant in the dream. I'm more comfortable flowing in my little bed surrounded by my banks covered with frozen vegetation. I wonder what kind of rivers would enjoy to travel all around the globe for real?

A well-earned rest

For Sonya, that is, since she has worked very hard in the last 2 weeks. She has captured over 6400 shots of people, animals, arts, architecture and landscapes while she was visiting the African continent and some of them are quite good, I find. Sonya's boyfriend (Dalexia's camera) was not lagging behind, since he has taken even more pictures during the trip. The result, over 13 000 photos taken. At this rate, even if we would have been blindfolded all the time, there are some good chances that we took a few good shots! bandit

But now I need to sort them and edit the best ones... I should finish before spring knockout

In addition to the few souvenirs, I also brought back a nasty cold that keeps me from breathing normally and gives me a constant headache. It must be related to the long walk we took under the pouring rain, in the city of Essaouira, while the streets were flooded, knee high, by the sewer overflows. But that will probably be one of the stories I will write when I will post Sonya's work.

Atchoo!

Where I am now? Am I still dreaming? What are those white creatures... Unicorns? All I know is that the mountains are gone, there is no more snow and there is a roaring sound.

What can make such a loud sound? Those strange creatures? No!... I know!!!!!!! It's the waves, the waves of the ocean! Yes, it's the ocean!!! I can see it, I can see it!! My dream came true, it came true! But is it just a dream.
