Is the outskirts of the village in question?

Looks pretty...very frosty. I've just come back from Saskatchewan and we had a fairly significant snowstorm on our last day there.

Louis 26. October 2009, 22:48

No, this one has been taken near the camp where I work.

I think of making another portrait type post of your eponym village! :D

Adele 26. October 2009, 22:53

Please do! I'm curious :D

Stardancer 26. October 2009, 23:05

That's just unbelievably beautiful.

:up:

Deb Platt 26. October 2009, 23:45

It is absolutely gorgeous! :up:

I did find myself wondering about the non-green evergreens.

Darko 27. October 2009, 05:39

Nice photo :smile:
I guess there are all fir trees but some of them look dried, the yellowish ones... :left:

@Stardancer & debplatt

You're too kind, thanks! :smile: I don't want to build expectations but I have kept the nicest ones of this series for the end. :whistle:

@Deb and Darko

Those are not firs but Larches. and to my knowledge, they are the only conifers who lose all their needles in autumn like trees with leaves.

With the snow resting on their branches, it looks all silver and gold. The larches are very pretty mixed in with the other evergreens.

Louis 27. October 2009, 18:38

...And it's also the last touch of color that is left now that all the leaves have fallen. I really like these trees.

Darko 27. October 2009, 19:00

Ah, larches (ariš, in Serbian). Now it makes sense :D

Louis 27. October 2009, 19:55

I won't try to pronounce it :whistle:

Darko 27. October 2009, 21:00

It is easy, pronounce `š` as a `sh` and that`s it :smile:

Louis 28. October 2009, 10:51

I speak Serbian!! YAY :hat:

Darko 28. October 2009, 12:51

:yes:
